The Senior ROV Submersible Technician has the primary responsibility for the maintenance and repair of the ROV system, implementation and monitoring of technical procedures and reporting, work management and execution and ROV operational tasks.
These key responsibilities are as follows:
Liaising with onshore engineers regarding ROV system engineering developments and problems and provide in-depth reports for review.
Ensuring that the ROV and all its systems are in complete working order and in compliance with all technical requirements throughout the contract period.
Ensuring that the submersible is checked before and after the dive in accordance with relevant pre and post dive check lists.
Organising the planned maintenance for the ROV system and maintaining complete technical records and logs, including any authorised modifications and special fits.
Keeping a careful check on the submersible's stability and ensuring that any addition or removal of weight or buoyancy is recorded.
Keeping a continuous record and reporting defects as they arise and using these records to prepare for refits and maintenance periods by ensuring that spare parts, materials etc. are available when required.
Carrying out general operations team duties, piloting, launch and recovery etc. as required.
Detailed briefing of relief Sub-Engineer before leaving operation site, or upon demobilisation providing written fault/maintenance report to assist Base staff.
As required supervises in the absence of the ROV supervisor / Senior Site Representative.
Build a portfolio of evidence for the companies ROV Competence Assurance Scheme and present the completed portfolio to the i-Tech competence focal point for assessment, verification and audit by client companies.
