Subsea7 are looking for an SCM Category Lead/Manager to join our Pipeline Group (PG) team on a full time, permanent basis.  This role can be located at any of our UK, Suresnes or Stavanger based offices.  Pipeline Group is responsible for delivering of all Subsea7’s rigid pipeline projects around the globe, with specific focus on safe and cost-effective installation operations.

As an SCM Category Lead/Manager you will be responsible for supporting the effective management of critical procurement packages to support our global pipeline fabrication activities. The role is primarily focused on Field Joint Coating (FJC) and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) services.  The SCM Category Lead/Manager shall play an essential role in the delivery of our global pipeline projects, establishing a collaborative relationship with key suppliers to ensure on time and on budget project delivery and to support our future growth opportunities.

What will you be doing?

This will be a varied role and one that will adapt to the needs of PG as our business evolves but areas you will be involved in include:

  • Maintain a comprehensive technical understanding of the focus packages, the range of products and services, qualification and application processes.
  • Build a comprehensive understanding of the market, the contractors, their core services, performance history and future developments.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of the sub-contracts and associated commercial agreements to enable comprehensive package management.
  • Proactively engage with both tenders and projects in execution to maintain collaborative working relationship with key sub-contractors and to optimize delivery performance.
  • Provide a key interface between the suppliers, and internal stakeholders: SCM, Production and Technical team, Product Team, Group Category network, HSEQ and Package Managers
  • Generate and support performance improvement initiatives to support Subsea7 long term business and growth plans.

  • Relevant experience in an SCM, technical or project management positions at an appropriate level.
  • Have, or be able to quickly acquire thorough technical understanding of the key FJC and NDT services within the subsea pipeline industry.
  • Good experience in commercial and contractual principles, negotiation processes and strategies and able to generate value from collaborative contracting processes.
  • Great interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and present across all levels of stakeholders, including up to Senior Management, both internal and external.
  • Committed to collaborative working, able to effectively organize and coordinate the activities of multi-disciplinary personnel divided over multiple locations.
  • Be sufficiently mobile to enable regular visits to key suppliers and our operational worksites globally.
