DESCRIPTION OF ROLE

Reporting to the GPC East - Asia Pacific Sales & Marketing Director, the Business Development (BD) Manager (Asia) will be responsible to identify prospects and leads the pursuit of new business opportunities in the Asia region.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible to identify and track prospects, develop and implement a compelling ‘Win’ strategy and support the regional tender team to secure new business. Through proactive client engagement the Business Development Manager provides the foundations to enable tenders to be successfully delivered and new projects secured.

This role will target new work in both lower carbon Oil and Gas and CCS in our focus countries including Malaysia and Brunei, as well as opportunity markets such as Indonesia & India.

The role is to be based in Kuala Lumpur with a requirement for regular travel throughout Asia.


SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES

  • Maintains a thorough awareness of the market, economic and geopolitical landscape in Asia and the relationship with the group and regional business strategy.

  • Development and implementation of Client Engagement Plans and effective management of strategic client relationships.

  • Identification of all prospects in the Asia region and maintenance of the Client relationship database (C365).

  • Development, implementation and presentation to Senior Management of Pursuit Strategy Plans.

  • Work closely with Market Analysts and Sales & Marketing Director to develop the regional strategy and period business planning activities.

  • Work closely with the regional Field Development Group to secure early engagement study work in support of new business awards.

  • Monitor and interpret market information sources: media, Government’s policy, Client strategy, Suppliers and competitor activity.

  • Asia Pacific Sales & Marketing Director, FDG Manager, Market Analyst & Business Planner.

  • Clients, Suppliers, Partners (Xodus, OSS & 4Subsea)

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The Business Development Manager possess a comprehensive understanding of the established Oil and Gas market and ability to develop an equivalent understanding of the new markets of the Energy Transition. They will possess a clear awareness of Subsea 7 and its subsidiaries, our differentiators and position within the market.

The Business Development manager is able to efficiently develop and maintain positive relationships with external stakeholders and demonstrate appropriate levels of experience with business development, tendering and strategy. 

The Business Development Manager shall have/be:

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the field

  • Committed to the highest levels of confidentiality and integrity acting as an ambassador for Subsea7.

  • Strong market awareness and a desire to learn and support Subsea7’s entry into new markets of the Energy Transition.

  • Able to regularly travel and work effectively across all countries within the Asia region.

  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on regional objectives across multiple offices.

  • Possess a strong work ethic, and able to work with others to deliver against demanding schedules.

  • Able to identify prospects that align with Subsea7 strengths and where we are able to differentiate over the competition to secure profitable work.

  • Able to prepare and present internal and external deliverables to a high standard.
