Subsea7 are looking to expand our highly skilled Design Drafting team at our offices in Westhill, Aberdeenshire and are looking to speak to experienced professionals seeking either staff or contractor roles.

You would be joining a professional group of CAD Designers with exceptional work ethic and team sharing mentality, working in one of the most energy diverse and challenging industries in the world. Our team provides a variety of design skills and disciplines to support all project phases from tender and design through to installation and commissioning. If you have extensive AutoCAD / Inventor experience, a design drafting background in structural / piping and have a desire to work in a stimulating environment within a global subsea engineering company, then this might be the perfect opportunity.

 

 What will you be doing?

The individual will be required to work under minimum supervision, applying drafting techniques to complex designs and assignments using industry standards and codes.

 

  • Apply acquired knowledge of relevant engineering principles to complement the design process.
  • Create engineering drawings, 3D models, layouts and sketches.
  • Assist in checking drawings for accuracy and completeness.
  • Capable of overseeing small project work scopes which may encompass less experienced designers (staff only).
  • When required, mentor trainees and less experienced designers (staff only).

  • Bundle design and installation.
  • Pipelay
  • Subsea structures/manifolds
  • Field developments and tie-ins
  • Inspection, Repair and Maintenance
  • Installation / Decommissioning
  • Vessels / Equipment
  • Renewables – Floating Wind, hydrogen storage, carbon capture
  • Tenders / Studies / Feeds

 

What experience would we like you to have?

  • Recognised Engineering HNC / HND Qualification (essential)
  • Proficient or extensive experience of AutoCAD and Inventor (essential)
  • Extensive drafting experience (essential)
  • Heavy structural / piping experience (essential)
  • Subsea / renewables background
