ABOUT THE GEOMATICS SPECIALIST / DATA PROCESSOR
The Geomatics Specialist / Data Processor role and primary objective is to participate in all areas of Subsea 7's Survey and Inspection activities that are supported from the office based in Houston. The role will have a significant emphasis on managing various tasks requested by projects and quality control of deliverables to the client. Reporting to and directed by the Survey Inspection Manager, the role addresses processing and charting of data, project support onshore and offshore and production of reports as a final deliverable.
Processing of hydrographic survey data including digital terrain data and pipeline inspection data. Video review and eventing. Creation of charts and drawings, data visualisation and interpretation. Review, quantify and report on standards of survey data processed offshore. Prepare, review, quality control and final preparation of survey reports. Preparation of documentation such as procedures, guidelines and manuals. Provide support to field-staff through addressing of technical queries and analysis of acquired datasets. Interface and liaise with projects and manage work against scheduled deadlines.
Qualifications in science, geography, graphic communication, and mathematics are desirable. Degree in a Surveying or Geoscience subject, required. Evidence of CPD is desirable.
Survey Data Processing, charting, AutoCAD skills are essential. Exposure to a variety of data processing applications such as Eiva, VisualWorks, Fledermaus, QPS etc is desirable. Ability to use software packages Word, Excel and AutoCAD is essential. Good computer skills and understanding of data formats is essential. Problem solving skills are desirable. A team player is essential. Communication and listening skills essential. Self motivated individual is essential. Organised and professional approach to work is desirable.
Based in Houston, Texas but some travel required.
