DESCRIPTION OF ROLE

The Project Manager is the key interface to a successful & trusted client-partners and sub-contractors relationship. He champions assigned project and ensures project is being effectively managed and delivered within budget, schedule and requirements. When he is not involved in project, the Project Manager will also function as Tender Manager and is responsible for developing a winning strategy for work being bid and developing bid package for submittal to client

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES

  • Establish the project team; mentor, develop and train team members in the project
  • Responsible for effective management and delivery of assigned project within budget, schedule & contract requirements and achieve these through the establishment of project targets and goals
  • Establish project execution plan, interface management process, robust HSEQ environment, responsibility matrix, CTR’s, schedules and WBS relative to contract requirements and payment milestones.
  • Establish reporting requirements and be accountable for weekly and monthly reporting of project financial status and progress to management
  • Implement, monitor and achieve HSE, risk and quality targets for the project
  • Ensure projects are planned and executed with sufficient competence, capacity, systems and tools for project execution
  • Responsible for implementation and use of PM7 requirements on projects
  • Key decision making in conjunction with the Procurement department (selection of sub-contractors, vessels, resources and supplies)
  • Interface with operations department to ensure safe and successful completion of offshore work
  • Ensures project team adhere to project controls systems (i.e. document control, cost control and schedule) throughout the project
  • Capture & document lessons learned on the project and dissemination of same within the company and various projects.
  • Implement PM7 process and ensure stage gate milestones are met.
  • Ensure technical and commercial risk management processes are fully implemented.
  • Establish MDDR and procurement plan.
  • Establish project control budget including staffing plan.
  • Monitor progress and take timely corrective actions where necessary to limit delay and risk
  • Resolve problems and conflicts within project
  • Implement Management of Change procedure.
  • Act as Tender Manager for prospective projects when not involved in Projects
  • Direct start-up activities including a 90-day schedule, contract review, internal review and tender team handover

 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors or Masters in Engineering
  • At least 15 years’ experience in EPCI Offshore Oil & Gas Industry of which minimum 5 years in Deepwater SURF or Pipelay Rigid or Heavy Lift project management capacity
  • Proficient in using MS Office
  • Possess good leadership qualities, integrity and able to work under minimum supervision
  • Committed, motivated and enthusiastic when in a group
  • Adaptable and efficient even under pressure, multi-tasking and challenging situation
  • Morally upright, responsible, disciplined and target oriented
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, well spoken and written English Language
