Description :

Department: Marine Operations

The Marine Operations Department is in charge of organizing and conducting offshore installation activities which Subsea 7 has to realize for its Clients. The various products to install may be pipelines, control umbilicals, flexible subsea lines, subsea structures like suction piles, manifolds, subsea wellheads.

The trainee will have three missions to conduct, which will allow him to develop his knowledge and skills about Subsea 7 activities, in particular about the management of the marine operations activities, of marine operations performances and of land-based logistics supporting marine operations.

  • management of the project operations activities : the trainee will have to understand organizations set up at the office and in countries where the operations took place, assess differences, the cause for those differences and summarize the cost of these organizations in order to compare it to the initial budget developed during the tender phase. The trainee will then have to make recommandations to apply for future invitations to tender and projects.
  • Marine operations : the trainee will have to review Globaly the completed budget and compare it to the initial estimated budget, in terms of number of ship days consumed (internal Subsea 7 ships or external) and understand/explain the differences. The trainee will have to make recommandations to take into account for the future invitations to tender Subsea 7 is preparing. Depending on available time, the trainee will be able to look in more detail the individual times of our operations and continue to populate the existing database.
  • Land-based logistics : the trainee will have to analyze the budgets of the various components of logistics, understand the differences between the different projects and countries in which Subsea 7 operates, and analyze what has been achieved on the projects compared to what has been estimated during the invitations to tender. Considering that land-based logistics cover an important activities panel, the trainee, after having familiarized himself with these activities, will have to propose his case studies. The trainee will then have to make recommandations to better estimate the logistics topics analysed on future invitations to tender, especially the update of the “logistic costing matrix”.
