OVERVIEW OF ROLE

Subsea 7 is an Oil Field Service company with operations across the globe. Subsea 7 maintains a centralised Treasury function that manages the global business treasury requirements.  In Subsea 7, Treasury Operations encompasses cashflow forecasting and market and liquidity risk management.  Front and back office responsibilities associated with the market risk management are managed in-house using industry standard Treasury Management systems.

The Treasury Manager role is accountable for managing both the treasury operations and assisting the VP Group Treasury & Commercial Finance and the Deputy Group Treasurer on business led commercial finance initiatives.

The role reports to the Deputy Group Treasurer.

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.

Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities

Treasury Operations:

  • Responsible for the day to day operations of the treasury operations team within Subsea 7. The Treasury Operations team includes three roles including this role.
  •  Responsibilities of the treasury operations team include:
    • Maintaining the consolidated cash forecast for the Subsea 7 Group.
    • Execution of foreign exchange trades to hedge the Group’s FX exposures.
    • Oversight of confirmation and settlement processes having regard to appropriate segregation of duties.
    • Validation of fees and charges associated with facilities, loans and the issuance of guarantees, ensuring amounts are agreed captured and paid in a timely manner.
    • Preparation of numerical and qualitative disclosure information relating to treasury transactions and risks for internal and external reporting.
    • Arranging compliance certificates, asset valuations etc. required by the company bankers.
    • Management of the bank account and dealer mandates globally.
    • Management and reporting of overall risk limits and exposures
  • Maintaining relationships with all approved banks and ensuring optimal service and pricing.

Commercial Finance:

  • Provide analytical support to key stakeholders, including project staff, Deputy Group Treasurer and VP Group Treasury & Commercial Finance with a key focus on upstream E&P and renewable project financing needs.
  • Undertake financial modelling and produce detailed valuations, NPV analysis etc.
  • Assist in interpretation of existing client/external business models to present a proposed position or a complete picture of the proposed project.
  • Provide accurate financial data on target project/client.

Staff Management

  • Manage direct reports to deliver the operational objectives of Group Treasury. Segregation of duties considerations will require the Treasury Manager to undertake the Treasury Analyst responsibilities from time to time.
  • To manage and develop direct reports and provide guidance and coaching to finance colleagues within the Group on treasury related matters in order to deliver required outputs.

Other

  • Continue to develop and maintain the Group’s Treasury systems infrastructure (including Sungard Integrity, Mysis, and 360T), leading any related contract and pricing negotiations to achieve low cost, high quality service levels.

ORGANISATION STRUCTURE

The post will report to the Deputy Group Treasurer.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Key qualification.
    • ACT qualification – MCT or AMCT is preferred.
    • Sound understanding of energy related financial modelling and assessment of financial statement, terminology and funding practices
    • CFA or relevant accounting qualification preferred.
  • Key experience. Must have run a treasury operations function. Areas where experience is preferred:
    • Familiarity with Upstream E&P modelling or similar,
    • Familiarity with E&P Upstream or Renewables lending criteria and models
    • Treasury risk management and dealing
    • Treasury Back office processing and cash management
    • Treasury accounting and compliance
