The SCM Subcontract Specialist performs a key role supporting Subsea 7 projects. The SCM Subcontract Specialist is responsible for the successful delivery of non standard third party products and services.

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.


  • Perform Supply Chain activities within allocated area of responsibility, according to Company policies, procedures and systems; and any Client requirements as applicable
  • Responsible for assesing all requirements and develop sourcing and contracting strategies for goods and services
  • Conducts and controls bid processes, oversees the preparation of bid packages, prepares bid analysis and participates in final contract award decisions.
  • Prepares and coordinates the execution of contracts and other supply documents in a manner that ensures compliance with procurement strategies and policies.
  • Prepare recommendations throughout the Tender or procurement process for bid lists, evaluations, negotiations and the final award.
  • Negotiates the acquisition of goods and services, which satisfy specifications, delivery requirements, and performance and reliability expectations while optimising the cost of materials and services
  • Monitor post-award activities, develop and agree plan with internal stakeholders for monitoring contractor performance and to further develop supplier relations
  • Maintain a working knowledge of legal requirements, Industry rules and regulations related to contractual documents, performance of contract work, quality assurance requirements and business relationships.
  • Provide guidance, support and mentoring to other developing supply chain personnel. Participate in the alignment of practices and objectives within the Supply Chain department.
  • Assist with any other duties that may be required for successful business delivery

Education and Experiernce

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within oil and gas Industry 
  •  Understanding of Financial Fundamentals and Concepts
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of engineering terminology.
  • Experience with SAP desirable
  •  Working knowledge in Microsoft Office applications
  • Pro-active and positive to changes and challenges typical of Oil and Gas Sector
