Subsea 7 has a requirement for a Charterting Specialist to support GPC Projects.  This is a staff role based in our Sutton office.

Overview of Role

  • Chartering of Marine Assets to support GPC Projects
  • Bid Comparisons for Marine Assets in support of GPC Tenders 
  • Assist the Chartering Manager

Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities

  • Pre-qualifies Ship-owners, Agents and Brokers.
  • Selects the Suppliers and issues the Bidder's list in agreement with the SCM process.
  • Liaises with suppliers, launches invitations to tender, collects offers, clarifies, negotiates and issues bid comparison for review and recommendation. 
  • Negotiation of Charter Party Terms & Conditions (T&C’s)
  • Manages the charter-parties (BIMCO) and addendum to the initial contract according to the directives given by the Chartering and Marine Support Manager.
  • Coordinates the exchange of information between the Project Representative and the Ship-owner (survey, certificates…).
  • Updates proactively the 3rd party vessel database;
  • Issues KPI and Chartering indicators on a monthly basis;
  • Assists the Chartering Manager for issuing quotations, budgets and studies to the other Departments;
  • Attends meetings with other Departments (Operations, HSEQ, Legal…);
  • Captures savings;
  • Develops and fosters a positive HSEQ culture throughout Subsea 7.

  • Previous experience in Chartering Roles in the Oil & Gas Business or Shipping Business
  • Previous experience in Chartering Roles within the Oil & Gas or Shipping Business
  • Good understanding of Bimco Charter Party’s, in particular Supply Time 2005 & Heavycon 2007
  • Good Contracting and Negotiation skills
  • Capable of managing multiple and challenging requests. 
  • Demonstrates good communication skills and is a team player.
