Project Control Manager

Reports to Project Services Manager

The Project Controls Manager ensures accurate, timely and value added analysis and reporting on a project or projects.  The role ensures the provision of all cost control on the project including budget set up, updates and monitoring, change management, variation estimating, cost reporting, risk contingency and management as well as all forecasting activities. She/He will also oversee planning, and document control functions.

Key Responsibilities include:  

  • Establishing and maintaining a Project Control Function
  • Focal point for Nigerstar 7 Project Team and client on all related Project Control requirements.
  • Supporting the Project Management team with the delivery of Project Control function and the provision of proactive management information
  • Providing regular reports and performance analysis to Projects, both standard and ad hoc, to give visibility of the status of projects and to support and stimulate management action as necessary
  • Ensuring that appropriate controls tools, systems and processes are established on projects in order to properly manage them and to obtain visibility of project performance and outcome
  • Ensuring that Nigerstar7's need for Project Control is adequately reflected in any contractual relationships with suppliers and sub-contractors
  • Ensuring that cost management is properly delivered including establishment of baseline budget, control of budget, assessment of Actual Cost of Work Performed, production of Estimate at Completion, final close-out of costs and provision of accurate cashflow forecasts
  • Managing FX exposure where appropriate
  • Ensuring that planning is properly delivered on the projects including the establishment and maintenance of the baseline plan, progress updates, planning reviews, short term look-ahead plans and forecast completion status
  • Ensuring that Risk and Opportunity management is properly delivered and managed on the projects
  • Ensuring that the appropriate Project Controls Resource is allocated to projects within Offshore Resources
  •   Capability profile - Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Behaviours  
  • Relevant Project Delivery or Finance qualification
  • Minimum 10years experience of relevant Project Delivery
  • Be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the different functions within Project Controls (Planning, Document Control)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Adaptability, initiative and problem solving capability
  • Able to manage multi-functional team
