DESCRIPTION OF ROLE

The Senior Engineer Methods – Pipeline Group role incorporates the full installation process from the procedure preparation and installation aids definition to the offshore operation. She/he is responsible for delivering fit for purpose rigid pipeline installation engineering (S-Lay) on projects or tenders with specific focus on safe and cost-effective installation operations.

She/He can be in charge of a team of installation engineers, dealing with different pipeline installation methods for a project scope or a tender, under the supervision of the Lead Engineer. 

She/he is responsible to the Installation Engineering Leader– Pipeline Group.  

 

SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Manages a technical scope within the project/tender team with associated engineers
  • Accountable for planning to ensure delegated scope schedules are achieved
  • Involved in the conceptual studies
  • Ensures that produced installation procedures and engineering considers all associated risks and safety requirements
  • Ensures that specifications and norms related to the project are respected
  • Provides support to offshore operations with possible short periods offshore or on the yard
  • Participates actively to engineers training and development,
  • Participates actively to the PG department know-how consolidation,
  • Proposes innovative solutions allowing cost & risks reduction

 

AUTHORITY/DIMENSIONS

  • Operate within the Code of Conduct
  • Support standards and procedures for the Engineering and Operations Functions

 

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

  • Sound experience and knowledge in subsea rigid pipeline installation engineering (S-Lay methods is essential, reel lay. Experience also in reel lay installation methods will be favorable.
  • Strong communication skills, oral, written and electronic.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver within time/budget constraints.
  • Ability to manage interfaces, internal and external for own scope.
