Seaway 7, the Renewables & Heavy Lifting business unit within Subsea 7, is seeking to hire a dedicated business development manager.

Seaway 7 provides project management, engineering, fabrication, heavy lifting, cable installation and decommissioning services for offshore energy infrastructure developments. Seaway 7 delivers these in a comprehensive array of contractual structures including EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Installation), T&I (Transportation & Installation), BoP (balance of plant) and integrated services to our clients in the renewables and oil & gas industries.

Seaway 7 is comprised of two companies:

  • Seaway Heavy Lifting (SHL) which manages and performs the transportation and heavy lifting of offshore structures.
  • Seaway Offshore Cables (SOC) which manages and performs submarine cable installation, trenching activities and related IMR services.

For Seaway Heavy Lifting we’re looking for a Business Development Manager Oil & Gas. The Business Development Manager reports to our Business Development Director Oil & Gas and will be stationed in our Zoetermeer office. Frequent travelling is required.

The primary task of the Business Development Manager is to further develop relationships with clients in Oil and Gas industry and build new relationships with possible clients. You will develop pursuit plans for prospects and strategy plans for your region.

Focus region will be North Sea but most likely combined with other regions. You will be responsible for development of new markets and sales growth within the existing market. In addition to that you will establish strategic alliances with other parties in order to increase our chances in this challenging market.

You are responsible for activities in the area of marketing and communication, generating leads, preparing pursuits, positioning and prequalifying SHL to receive RFQ’s and ITT’s (Invitation to Tender) within your region. During talks and engagements with potential clients you will keep note of the client’s requirements in the broadest sense, not limited to; technical challenges, planning, budget and terms of delivery. While doing this it is vital that you can translate the possibilities or the inabilities to solutions for the client in current and future market conditions. You will keep close relations with clients, prospects and leads and all third parties involved. Further you will stay in close contact with relevant stakeholders within Seaway Heavy Lifting such as Business Analysis, Proposals, Engineering and Corporate Communications. You will act as Seaway Heavy Lifting’s local representative for the area and act as such on various conferences and networking events.

Profile:

A Business Development Manager with good knowledge of and interest in the Oil & Gas industry. Keen to travel internationally and interested in developing the area. An entrepreneurial mind-set and look forward to this international challenge. Able to convert prospects into opportunities and secure favourable invitations to tender. The following describes you:

  • A technical university degree (preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Offshore Engineering).
  • Preferable experience with tender coordination / management.
  • Preferable experience with decommissioning.
  • Analytical, seeking opportunities and pro-active.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-starter, convincing, creative and take initiative.
  • Result oriented.
  • Able to use your excellent market researching abilities.
  • High level of cultural awareness and intercultural competence.
  • Able to converse with different personalities and cultures.
  • Strong relation manager, able to talk on different levels.
  • Trustworthy, a natural style of seniority, calm, persistent and a strong negotiator.
  • Strong personality, clear opinion, team player but can also work independently and able to set a course and follow it.
  • Sense of humour and excellent communicative and social abilities.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
