Seaway 7, the Renewables & Heavy Lifting business unit within Subsea 7, is seeking to hire a Lead Accounting & Compliance.

SHL is part of Seaway 7, the Renewables & Heavy Lifting business unit within Subsea 7. Seaway 7 provides project management, engineering, fabrication, heavy lifting, cable installation and decommissioning services for offshore energy infrastructure developments. Seaway 7 delivers these in a comprehensive array of contractual structures including EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Installation), T&I (Transportation & Installation), BoP (balance of plant) and integrated services to our clients in the renewables and oil & gas industries.

Seaway 7 is comprised of two companies:

  • Seaway Heavy Lifting (SHL) which manages and performs the transportation and heavy lifting of offshore structures.
  • Seaway Offshore Cables (SOC) which manages and performs submarine cable installation, trenching activities and related IMR services.

We are looking for a fulltime Lead Accounting & Compliance to join the Accounting Team within our Finance Department in Zoetermeer.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading the accounting team consisting of two Financial Accountants and one senior Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable accountant
  • First point of contact towards FRC (Finance Resource Centre)
  • Responsible for the set-up of AP process within the processes and procedures of FRC as well as close cooperation with local Procurement/Subcontract department
  • Responsible for the expense report process and timely processing and payment of expenses
  • Responsible for cash management and first point of contact to Group Treasury
  • Responsible for complete, accurate, up-to-date and compliant accounting records representing correct and fair view of financial position and financial transaction cycles
  • Responsible for the accounting of foreign entities and compliance with local GAAPs.
  • Responsible for the internal control framework including periodically review and compliance of internal controls and suggestion of improvements
  • Preparation of financial statements
  • Coordination of both external and internal audits
  • Preparing PoC calculations for various projects on statutory level
  • Reviewing and supporting position papers for external audit purposes Responsible for the implementation of new IFRSs (IFRS 16 for instance)

Capability profile / Qualifications:

  • Hands-on mentality and motivation to work efficiently
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferable master’s degree in Business and Economics/Accountancy
  • At least 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Able to motivate and lead a team of accountants
  • Able to create structure and align monthly processes
  • Works accurate even under pressure
  • Proactive in signalling deadlines and take appropriate actions.
  • Able to take ownership of tasks/responsibilities.
  • Excellent computer skills (Outlook & Excel).
  • SAP knowledge/experience is mandatory.
  • Experience with vendor invoice management (VIM).
  • Good command of Dutch and English in speaking and writing.
