Seaway 7, the Renewables & Heavy Lifting business unit within Subsea 7, is seeking to hire a QC Lead based in our Zoetermeer office.


Seaway 7 provides project management, engineering, fabrication, heavy lifting, cable installation and decommissioning services for offshore energy infrastructure developments. Seaway 7 delivers these in a comprehensive array of contractual structures including EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Installation), T&I (Transportation & Installation), BoP (balance of plant) and integrated services to our clients in the renewables and oil & gas industries.


Seaway 7 is comprised of two companies:

  • Seaway Heavy Lifting (SHL) which manages and performs the transportation and heavy lifting of offshore structures.
  • Seaway Offshore Cables (SOC) which manages and performs submarine cable installation, trenching activities and related IMR services.


Our HSEQ department is responsible for the coordination of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality related matters on corporate and project level and we are looking for a QC Lead.


Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate QC Personnel.
  • Develop working relationships with customers, both external and internal, sub-contractors, suppliers, to maximize opportunities for the company and ensure customer needs are addressed.
  • Advise organization in selecting quality control at specified stages in project performance.
  • Initiate recommend follow up and close-out any non-conformance, corrective action and or preventive corrective action.
  • Assist QC Manager for all incoming tenders and ensures adequate QC follow-up.
  • Perform inspections of fabricated/purchased parts, subassemblies or finished company products according to well defined criteria using standard physical and mechanical measurements.
  • Conduct and document process and system audits using written procedures as audit standards.
  • Accurately document the results of inspections.
  • Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Coordinate calibration of all test equipment and fixtures.
  • Monitor critical equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation.
  • Participate in the setup and/or revision of inspection test plans.
  • Assist in the writing and updating inspection procedures, protocols and checklists and the digitalization thereof.
  • Evaluate problems and make initial recommendations for possible corrective action to supervise.
  • Perform review of history records and other documentation for compliance to established procedures and good documentation practices.


Capability profile / Qualifications:


  • IWT and IWI-c is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ quality control experience.
  • Flexible.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Accurate.
  • Proactive.
  • Good computer skills (MS Office).
  • Good command of verbal and written English.
  • Excellent sense of humour.
  • Can-do mentality and independent worker.
