We have a vacancy for an experienced  3rd Eng- Deck (with a hydraulic background) within our fleet on a Global Enabler Reeled rigid pipelay vessel.

This is based on a DAY RATE  contract and for internal Subsea 7 candidates,please note that contract type will be dependent on your current contract status.

 

OVERVIEW OF ROLE

Responsibility for the operation, maintenance and repair of equipment related to lay deck and crane operations whilst on shift, under the direction of the senior shift officer (usually 2nd Engineer Deck) and assist in engine room activities as required.

 All personnel are expected to contribute to a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.

The 3rd Engineer Deck is expected to contribute to a culture of ethics and integrity within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to our Code of Conduct.

 

Key RESPONSIBILTIES:

 As a member of the shift team, the key responsibilities are structured as follows:-

  • Operate within the Code of Conduct
  • Operate according to Subsea 7’s Management Principles
  • Primary responsibility for the maintenance and repair of the lay equipment, with specific responsibility of mechanical systems. Implements and monitors technical procedures and reporting, work management and execution, supervision of personnel and operational duties:
  • Ensures equipment and all systems are in complete working order and in compliance with all technical requirements
  • Ensures that the equipment is checked and maintained in accordance with relevant check lists
  • Organises and completes planned maintenance for the system, keeping records of defects to assist in planning of re-fits and maintenance periods
  • Compiles and maintains technical records, reports and logs in a computerised maintenance system
  • Assists in the identification and ordering of suitable spare parts to ensure they are available when required
  • Uses logical fault finding techniques during breakdown situations
  • Operates pipelay spread and auxiliary equipment during Lay operations

  • Cylinders and Rotary Actuators

  • Chain Drives
  • Electric/hydraulic motors
  • Hydraulic Systems

 Key Requirements:

  • Must hold a minimum Officer of Engineering Watch Certificate of Competency (STCW III/1), meeting legislative requirements of the Flag State
  • Must hold hydraulics background and have relevant working experience of hydraulics systems
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing in accordance with STCW Code Table A-II/I
  • Fully conversant with ship's Safety Management System (Ref: ISM Code)
  • Completed Security Awareness training relevant for the position (Ref: ISPS Code)
  • Hold at all times a valid seafarer medical fitness certificate and offshore survival certification
  • Training in accordance with Subsea 7 training matrix
  • Must be physically fit and clear of any medical conditions prior to travel for work
