We are now recruiting for Rigging Supervisor for our upcoming projects.

This position will be based on Day Rate Contract

Reports to: Assistant Deck Foreman 

The Rigging Supervisor responsible for assisting the Assistant Deck Foreman with the preparation and deployment of all project equipment, under the overall direction of the Deck Foreman and ensuring that all operations are carried out in accordance with procedures, and in a safe manner.

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices. This will include, but not be limited to:

  • Actively reporting all undesired events and safety observations using the Safety Observation system and Undesired Events Report system.
  • Actively reporting non-conformances using the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) system.
  • Actively reporting and managing any unsafe act, condition or procedure or environmental unsafe acts and conditions to the Chief Officer so that action can be taken to manage or minimise any and all risk.

 All personnel are also expected to contribute to creating a culture of ethics and integrity within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to our Code of Conduct.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist the Deck Foreman & Assistant Deck Foreman as directed.
  • Ensure an effective shift handover including any safe work procedures and explanation of current working conditions.
  • To participate and assist in the preparation of Risk Assessments, Lift plans and Tool box talks.
  • Report any defects (or potential defects) in equipment or any doubts about the safety of the operation immediately to the Deck Foreman and/or Shift Supervisor.
  • Check equipment to ensure that it is safe to use and correctly set in accordance with checklists provided.
  • Progress work scope as directed and in accordance with the relevant Task Plans and Approved Procedures.
  • Assist in maintenance and/or repair of support equipment as required.
  • Understand and take proactive participation in project risk assessments.
  • Maintain all projects rigging in use.
  • Ensure all certification is maintained and suitable for use by project.
  • Ensure all project equipment on deck is sea-fastened and secured.
  • Control all lifting operations in accordance with Subsea 7 procedures for lifting equipment and operation on barges, ships and yards.
  • Ensure all lifting equipment and rigging is certified
  • Update and fill out monthly Pre-Use Rigging check list.
  • Assist in launch and recovery of Trencher, PLETs and other project equipment.
  • Responsible for deck safety and personnel involved in deck operations.
  • Delegate riggers to assist in deck operations including mooring of VSL.

 

 Key Requirements:

  • Must hold a valid sea survival and OGUK medical (in the renewables industry also GWO trainings can be accepted)
  • Must hold a valid Opito approved Stage 1 Rigging certification 
  • Must hold a valid Opito approved Stage 3 Banksmen/Slinger certification
