We are recruiting for a Party Chief to support our global operations.

This will be based on a Day Rate Contract.

 

The Survey Party Chief is responsible for the correct and efficient execution of all survey operations relevant to a project. This will require a comprehensive knowledge of all systems utilised on a project and frequent briefings of all Survey personnel such that they are aware of their individual roles and responsibilities within the team. The Survey Party Chief also has responsibility for the Health, Safety and welfare of the offshore Survey personnel, implementation and monitoring of the Subsea 7 safety management system, offshore survey resource management and management of work execution.

 

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.

 

All personnel are also expected to contribute to creating a culture of ethics and integrity within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to our Code of Conduct.

 

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with Company standard operating procedures and project-specific survey procedures.
  • HSEQ – Ensure that all activities are undertaken in accordance with our stated policies & guidelines – ensure Subsea7 Permit to Work policy is followed, Tool box Talks & Risk Assessments are routinely undertaken & documented.
  • Ensure efficient overall execution of survey operations and timely completion in accordance with relevant Survey procedures and on occasion, proposal and contract.
  • Effectively manage all Subsea 7 Survey resources operating on the work site.
  • Effectively manage Third Party suppliers and ensure full compliance with Subsea 7 Permit to Work System, relevant Safety Management processes and ways of working.
  • Maintain communications with the client's offshore representatives, vessel/installation management and onshore management.
  • Ensure that daily reporting to onshore management is completed.
  • Co-ordinate & collate production of final reports/as-built information.
  • Act as offshore Survey technical authority.
  • Conduct survey project briefings with the client representative, vessel/installation Master/OM, Dive Superintendent and Survey personnel so that all concerned understand the objectives of the operations, methods and techniques to be employed to achieve success.
  • Ensure that all equipment and stores used by the Survey team are in good condition and that there is sufficient equipment and consumable resources on-board to carry out planned operations.
  • When necessary give advice to vessel bridge personnel for the operational requirements of the vessel in support of Survey operations.
  • Collate necessary information for Client representative approval where required.
  • Ensure Subsea 7 operating procedures are adhered to during project execution and where deviation is necessary, ensure the Company’s Management of Change processes are followed.
  • Give detailed written briefing to relief before leaving the operations site.
  • Provide end of trip feedback on offshore operations, project procedures and support, offshore Survey personnel & Survey hardware.
  • Ensure that all personnel involved in operations receive sufficient coaching and supervision to assist them in carrying out their appointed tasks in a safe and effective manner.
  • Must maintain a good working knowledge of the Subsea 7 HSEQ & safety management system and operating standards. Take proactive participation in project risk assessments.
  • Must actively comply with the Subsea 7 Competence Assurance and Assessment Program (CAAP).
  • Must comply with requirements of Subsea 7 Global HSEQ Program.
  • Perform other duties or complete special projects as assigned.

 

Key Requirements:

  • HND or Degree qualification in relevant survey related discipline preferred.
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant experience as Party Chief within Oil & Gas Survey and Construction environment.
  • Must hold a valid OPITO approved Offshore Survival and OGUK medical.
  • The following certification would be desirable: CA-EBS; Shoulder Measurements; ILO Seamans Book
  • Specific knowledge and understanding of current offshore survey techniques in Pre-engineering survey, pre-lay survey, construction support, as-built survey, ROV survey operations, LBL installation and calibration, Subsea metrology and dimensional control.
  • Knowledge and understanding of subsea engineering associated with following areas: Oil & Gas construction and field development; heavy lift operations; jacket & monopile installation operations; transition piece installation.
  • Experience using land survey techniques e.g. Intersection/resection, network adjustment, levelling.
  • Experience of RTK Positioning
  • Experience using total stations & dumpy levels
  • Ability to analyse problems in a structured and disciplined manner
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Presents self in a professional manner appropriate to the role
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interface across various disciplines and levels within the business.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Produces written work of a high standard and presentable quality
  • Ability to prioritise own and others' workload, manage time and change control accordingly.
