We are now recruiting for experienced Surveyors to support our global offshore operations.

This will be based on a Day Rate Contract.

The Surveyor has the primary responsibility for the operation, and maintenance of the online survey systems and the execution, monitoring and reporting of survey operational tasks. A high level of quality control must be exercised at all times to ensure that survey-related systems are configured and operated correctly. The Surveyor has responsibility for the Health, Safety and welfare of themselves and others.

 

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.

 

All personnel are also expected to contribute to creating a culture of ethics and integrity within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to our Code of Conduct.

 

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with Company standard operating procedures and project-specific survey procedures.
  • Review and understand project procedures and survey and inspection requirements.
  • Operate and maintain survey navigation and data acquisition systems.
  • Operate and maintain survey surface and sub-surface positioning systems.
  • Ensure that all project required raw and pre-processed survey data is recorded in real-time.
  • Full understanding of the operation of commonly used survey systems and sensors.
  • Full quality control and verification of all survey sensors and systems interfaced to the navigation and acquisition software to ensure that they are operating within specifications and requirements described within the project-specific procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all survey sensor calibrations and verifications are undertaken at the necessary intervals, as described in the Company‚Äôs standard procedures. All calibrations will be documented and archived on the vessel and reported to the Survey Helpdesk.
  • To monitor, maintain and document the vessel and ROV dimensional control reference frames (offsets).
  • Carry out survey operations in accordance with Subsea 7 standard and project specific procedures to complete Client work scopes satisfactorily.
  • Must operate in accordance with Subsea 7 safety management system and operating standards
  • Must be knowledgeable in commonly used survey datums, map projections and reference spheroids.
  • Assist in the launch and recovery of survey sensors, such as towed sonar systems or CTD probes, if required.
  • Assist with offline processing of logged survey data and chart production, where required.
  • Liaise with Survey & Inspection team members, bridge officers, ROV crew and other onboard departments as necessary, to ensure that the required level of information and communication is always maintained.
  • Participate in Toolbox Talks and Pre-Job Safety Meetings. Contribute to the companies HSEQ Behavioural/Observational systems.
  • Fully brief relief surveyor at shift handover and at crew changes.
  • Must maintain a good working knowledge of the Subsea 7 HSEQ & safety management system and operating standards. Take proactive participation in project risk assessments.
  • Must actively comply with the Subsea 7 Competence Assurance & Assessment Program.
  • Must comply with the requirements of the Subsea 7 Global HSEQ Program.
  • Perform other duties or complete special projects as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree or HND qualification in relevant survey related discipline preferred.
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant experience as Surveyor within Oil & Gas Survey and Construction environment.
  • Must hold a valid OPITO approved Offshore Survival and OGUK medical.
  • The following certification would be desirable: CA-EBS; Shoulder Measurements; ILO Seamans Book
  • Specific knowledge and understanding of current offshore survey techniques in Pre-engineering survey, pre-lay survey, construction support, as-built survey, ROV survey operations, LBL installation and calibration, Subsea metrology and dimensional control.
  • Knowledge and understanding of subsea engineering associated with following areas: Oil & Gas construction and field development; heavy lift operations; jacket & monopile installation operations; transition piece installation.
  • Experience using land survey techniques e.g. Intersection/resection, network adjustment, levelling.
  • Experience of RTK Positioning.
  • Experience using total stations & dumpy levels.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interface across various disciplines and levels within the business.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Produces written work of a high standard and presentable quality.
  • Ability to maintain clear and concise logbooks and records.
  • Works well with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritise own and others' workload, manage time and change control accordingly.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving

 

Experience of the following Software and Systems is Required:

  • Eiva Navisuite (Navipac,Naviscan)
  • GNSS positioning systems e.g. Veripos
  • Vessel attitude sensors e.g. Kongsberg Seapath
  • USBL systems e.g. Kongsberg HiPAP

Experience of the following Software and Systems will be desirable:

  • Sonardyne Fusion and 6G LBL
  • INS systems e.g. iXblue PHINS, ROVINS
  • Multibeam Echosounders e.g. Reson and R2Sonic
  • Pipetracker systems e.g. TSS440
  • Digital Video e.g. VisualSoft
  • AutoCAD
