POSITION PURPOSE STATEMENT:


Primary responsibility for the maintenance, repair & servicing of a wide range of Electrical & Electronic equipment and sub-components in a safe and efficient manner, predominantly working within the Electronic department.


MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures equipment and all systems are in complete working order and in compliance with all technical requirements
    • Uses logical fault finding techniques during breakdown situations
    • Ensures that the equipment is checked and maintained in accordance with relevant task plans/work instructions.
    • Ensures that new task plans/work instructions are raised and in place where none exist.
    • Assists in the identification and ordering of suitable spare parts to ensure they are available when required.
    • Compile & maintain technical records, reports and logs using the companies computerised i7 Request (Request for Service) call logging system, all maintenance records to be recorded in TM Master & SAP
    • Interface with other Workshop & Technical Services disciplines as and when required.
    • Participate in the planned maintenance of electrical & electronic department equipment.
    • Maintain and promote a safe working environment within the department and the company to achieve high level of safety, reporting via Synergi.
  • Ensure line manager is updated on all aspects of assigned jobs.
    • Perform occasional visits to Subsea 7 sites and vessel while in port to assist with maintenance activities.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Qualifications and Education

General Education
Essential:
• Good general education

Desirable:
• HNC in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or Equivalent Civilian or Military Qualification or Completed recognized Trade Apprenticeship


Continuing Professional Development
Essential:
• Studying towards HNC qualification


Skills 

Technical (including IT)
Essential:
• PC literate and proficient in Microsoft software applications

Interpersonal
Essential:
• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.  Team player.  Flexible approach and positive attitude.

Self Management
Essential:
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload

Experience

Experience
Essential:
• Extensive Electronic systems experience on a wide range of subsea electronic equipment

Desirable:
• Strong Fault Finding techniques
• Good working knowledge on Survey/ROV equipment
• Good working knowledge on PC & navigational positioning systems

Knowledge
Essential:
• Good level of knowledge on a wide range of ROV/Survey subsea Electronic equipment
