Seaway 7, the Renewables business unit of Subsea 7, is a highly capable and experienced partner for the delivery of fixed and floating offshore wind farm projects, as well as a provider of specialist heavy lifting and cable installation services.

With combined expertise in project management, engineering, procurement, fabrication, heavy lifting and cable installation services, Seaway 7 can deliver these services in a comprehensive array of contractual structures including engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI), transportation & installation (T&I) and balance of plant (BoP) to our clients in the offshore Renewables sector.

Seaway 7 operates through four divisions;

  • Heavy Lifting
    • T&I of offshore structures for the Renewables sector
  • Offshore Cables
    • T&I of submarine cables & umbilicals for the Renewables sector
    • Engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning (EPIC) of submarine cables for the Renewables sector
    • Trenching and inspection, repair and maintenance related business
  • EPCI Solutions
    • Delivery of EPCI solutions for the Renewables sector
  • Integrated Projects
    • Delivery of integrated Heavy Lifting and Offshore Cables solutions for the Renewables sector

The combination of Heavy Lifting, Offshore Cable installation and EPCI capabilities and expertise, makes Seaway 7 a versatile and highly capable partner of choice for the delivery of your complete offshore projects.

Seaway 7’s services are supported by five dedicated specialist vessels, that are augmented with vessels from Subsea 7’s larger fleet to provide additional support as and when required. The Seaway 7 fleet includes Heavy Lift Vessel Seaway Strashnov, Heavy Lift Vessel Seaway Yudin, Cable-Lay Vessels Seaway Aimery and Seaway Phoenix and Installation Support Vessel Seaway Moxie.


The Asset Development Lead position is part of the Seaway 7 Heavy Lifting approach to Strategic Asset Management. Strategic Asset Management was recently integrated into the organisational structure to ensure that Seaway 7 Heavy Lifting remains competitive and capable to perform future projects. This is done by preparing investment plans for Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) projects based on market requirements, new developments in technology and performance of our fleet, before handing them over to a dedicated CAPEX project team for execution and implementation.

We are looking for an Asset Development Lead who will support the Strategic Asset Manager in this new approach to Asset Management. As Asset Development Lead you will be responsible for analysing operational performance and finding areas of improvement. This will involve working with other departments on bringing improvement ideas to a stage where RFQs can be send out, and assist in putting together the business plans for capital investments, to be handed over to a dedicated project team in case of project go-ahead.

Knowledge of our market, offshore operations, strategical thinking, eagerness to improve, leadership in teamwork with the different disciplines in the organisation, a “getting things done” mentality and an inquisitive and open mind are paramount to success in this position.


Role Specific - Key Responsibilities & Activities

  • Collect and structure asset development ideas
  • Analyse working methods and performance with a view to improve
  • Collaborate with resources from business functions, external or third-party partners to collect all the required input for the business cases
  • Help write/make the business case for the suggested improvements
  • Take part in CAPEX project teams to provide background info and feedback information.

Preferred Experience and Education

  • MSc/BSc degree in mechanical/maritime engineering, business management or equivalent
  • A solid mix of experience and interest in:
    • the renewables market
    • heavy lift offshore operations
    • data analysis and optimization
    • financial/commercial / management reporting / working with/leading a collaborative effort from an interdisciplinary team
