Seaway 7 is a global leader in the delivery of bottom-fixed offshore wind farm solutions, committed to contributing to an efficient and sustainable energy supply for the future.  As a competent and experienced partner, Seaway 7 offers specialist foundation, offshore substation, submarine cable and wind turbine installation services and heavy transportation for the renewables sector.

With capabilities and an extensive expertise in project management, engineering, procurement and fabrication, Seaway 7 can deliver these services in a comprehensive array of contractual structures including Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI), (integrated) Transportation & Installation (T&I) and Balance of Plant (BoP) to our clients in the offshore wind industry.

Together we operate a high-end fleet with enabling capabilities and scale, allowing efficient worldwide operations, while providing vessel flexibility and optionality to clients. The active fleet comprises ten vessels with two more high-specification assets, designed for the installation of next generation of wind turbine generators and foundations, under construction.


For our Taipei office we are looking for a fulltime Buyer to join the Supply Chain Management Team


Description of Role

  • The Buyer has the responsibility to engagement the supply lines for procurement of designated materials and/or services.
  • Focus is on high volume transactions of lower complexity Supply Chain solutions.
  • Activities have direct impact of the cost base of Seaway 7.
  • Work is on tenders and/or projects, as well as any other SCM requirements Seaway 7 may have.


  • The Senior capacity of this role requires the Buyer to proactively define adequate procurement strategies and make suggestions for improvement of business processes. Moreover, the Senior role shall proactively support fellow team members if and when required.
  • The Lead capacity of this role additionally actively contributes to development and implementation of long-term sourcing strategies as well category management.

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Seaway 7. Everyone must ensure familiarity with and adherence to applicable HSEQ codes and practices.

Key responsibilities:

  • Co-operates pro-actively with all internal stakeholders to understand needs of Seaway 7 business.
  • Collects all relevant information required to efficiently and economically buy goods and services.
  • Obtains quotes and conduct commercial evaluations, aiming to identify best economical solution relevant to business needs. Prepares recommendations for internal stakeholders.
  • Purchases identified goods and services. Ensure timely delivery, at the correct location, conform to quality and quantity specifications as well as within budget.
  • Where applicable; checks invoices, closes orders and settles final accounts.
  • Supports Supplier Evaluation Process.
  • Supplier relationship management. Occasionally organises meetings with regular suppliers to manage expectations and align business interests.
  • Works according to Seaway 7 Business Management System and SCM tools.
  • Operates in accordance with Seaway 7 Business Code of Conduct.
  • Safeguards compliance with company policies, objectives, environmental impact, safety and customer requirements.




Capability profile / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor level. Preferably from a technical discipline and ideally complemented with commercial education.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills. English language is mandatory. Proficiency in another language would be a strong pre, for instance: German, Dutch or Mandarin.
  • Commercially astute.
  • High degree of diligence during day-to-day business; accurate.
  • Comfortable negotiator; easy communicator.
  • Great sense of integrity.
  • Adequate level of stress tolerance.
  • Pro-active, resourceful and problem-solving abilities with a hands-on attitude.
  • Knowledge of relevant rules and regulations for offshore industry.
  • Advanced User Microsoft Office as well as SAP.
  • At least 2-3 years relevant working experience within procurement.
