We provide project management, engineering and construction expertise across the full field lifecycle. These services are delivered within three operational business units: Subsea and Conventional, Life of Field, and Renewables and Heavy Lifting.

Within Africa, Middle East & Caspian region (AMEC), we safely execute Subsea and Conventional projects which connect seabed wellhead infrastructures to surface facilities such as platforms and floating production systems. We are actively present in a significant number of countries in Africa, Europe, Caspian Sea, Middle East and Asia.

 

 POSITION PURPOSE STATEMENT:

The Finance Manager is responsible for the provision of regular financial information in compliance with Group guidelines and local financial reporting regulations. For this purpose he manages a team of accountants, currently one tax accountant and a senior accountant. The finance manager supervises tax reporting activities and compliance obligations as well as provides guidance and advice regarding to a range of tax related emanating from country and Group operations.

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.

All personnel are also expected to contribute to creating a culture of ethics and integrity within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to our Code of Conduct

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure continuous compliance with all Finance policies, process and procedures and promote best practice
  • Input to the financial sections of the quarterly earnings releases and any required supporting analysis, making full use of available software and control systems
  • Manage monthly closing process and preparation of variance analysis and explanations of variances between actual results to budget to date and to full year forecasts
  • Provide technical guidance to the specific country finance functions on IFRS issues, disclosure items, group procedures, new accounting standards and complex accountingmatters
  • Liaise with and providing information to the Group auditors
  • Lead the forecast and budget processes
  • Ensure that all transactions and taxes are recorded and reported in accordance with Subsea 7 statutory and local legal requirements
  • Maintain work organisation and propose adjustments when necessary Establish and maintain an interface with IT and SAP function
  • Ensure operational day to day as well as long term filing of accounts
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge in accounting standards and provide technical accounting support within the function
  • Develop and maintain departmental controls and procedures
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors with regards to accounting issues and internal control over Financial Reporting
  • Ensure Finance capitalises from lessons learned and is performed in accordance with best practice, striving to mitigate risk, promoting safety and integrity consistently
  • Contribute to the development of the Finance Function through clearly understood roles, responsibilities and performance objectives, regular feedback and continuingprofessional training
  • Controls and manages the overall expenditure of the office including Petty Cash under authority
  • Support the implementation of the Subsea 7 tax strategy within country ensuring alignment with Group strategy
  • Support the drive of tax policies and procedures and effectively communicate potential tax issues locally

  • Controls and manages the overall expenditure of the office including Petty Cash under authority
  • Support the implementation of the Subsea 7 tax strategy within country ensuring alignment with Group strategy
  • Support the drive of tax policies and procedures and effectively communicate potential tax issues locally
  • Help monitor and analyse tax implications, and minimise the tax cost whilst complying with all relevant legislation and regulatory authorities
  • Ensure consistent compliance with local tax filing requirements
  • Carry out operational tasks as directed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Interface with budget owners on a regular basis to review commitments and challenge their forecasts

 

General Accounting: supervise the accounting activities performed by the accountants

  • Petty cash Management
  • Per Diem Management
  • Allowances Management
  • Invoices management in line with VIM (Vendor Invoices Management) workflow and internal rules
  • Ensure all ledgers held in SAP are maintained and controlled on a monthly basis (balance sheet reconciliation…)
  • Manage company accounts with social insurance security offices
  • Assist Africa Finance Support Manager in all Group requirements

Annual financial statements:

  • Prepare statutory accounts in line with Turkish law and file them with the local authorities in coordination with advisory firm

Tax: supervise the tax accountant activities including:

  • Management of all entity taxes
  • Assist in all Tax returns requirements (Corporate and Personnel)

Treasury:

  • Prepare Short term Cash Forecasts
  • Maintain accurate cash inventories and bank balances

Cost Control:

  • Prepare and reconcile on a monthly basis the various budgets under the responsibilities of the country manager
  • Prepare reporting to Head Office using the standard group tool (currently BFC)

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
  • Experience with SAP software system accounting modules.
  • Team management
  • Proficiency in General Accounting Management including statutory closing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools.
  • Fluency in both written and verbal English.
  • Excellent knowledge of Turkish Accounting GAAP.
  • Knowledge of health, safety and quality.
  • Financial management and general accounting skills.
  • 8-10 years experience working in international environment.
