Overview of Role:

Under supervision the Automation Support Engineer assists engineers to produce automated ways of working. The work scope may include developing automatic reporting from projects, studies and tenders as well as the development of new tools and applications to advance Engineering Automation and Integration between different tools and software’s.

 

Specific Key Responsibilities:

  • Under direct supervision, produces deliverables which may include, PowerBI dashboards and reports, scripted calculations, development of GUI’s, Data Lineage, Data Glossary’s, process maps and validation reports
  • Supports the development of new tools to be part of Subsea 7’s inhouse Integrated Engineering Platform
  • Workflows and optimisation process executed on HPC environment or on workstation
  • Supports the development of Engineering applications to reduce lead time on projects and tenders
  • Assists in the production of technical documentation
  • Assists in the development of a data governance framework and promotes adherence to the framework
  • Improving and developing interfaces between disciplines through data management including CAD models
  • Validate documents and actions produced under his/her responsibility
  • Makes effort to become aware of all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements
  • Providing support to Engineers in the use of new tools, scripts and new ways of working

Person Specification:

  • Eagerness to learn and passion for scripting
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills

Essential Requirements

  • Good experience in Python

Desireable Requirements

  • Experience in Java Script
  • Basic knowledge and skills in CAD / CAE Desirable
