POSITION OVERVIEW

Subsea 7 is a world-leading seabed-to-surface engineering, construction and services contractor to the offshore oil, gas and renewables industry. We provide cost-effective technical solutions to enable the delivery of complex projects in all water depths and challenging environments. We are looking for an Installation Project Engineer to join our Pipeline Group based in our Sutton, London office on either a full-time staff or contract basis.  The Pipeline Group provides 'bid to execution' capabilities to our Tenders and Projects with consolidated expertise and knowledge in the areas of pipelay operations and engineering, materials, welding, coatings and lay analysis.

The Installation Project Engineering role incorporates the full installation process from the procedure preparation, the definition of installation aids, up to the mobilisation of the vessel and subsequent offshore operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering fit for purpose rigid pipeline installation engineering on projects or tenders with specific focus on safe and cost-effective installation operation and will be responsible to the Senior Installation Engineer.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Performs detailed feasibility studies and installation procedure, considering all associated risk and ensure that all safety rules are considered for various operations such as pipe laying, riser installation, pipeline structure in line installation.
  • Determines and optimizes operations installation times.
  • Ensure the quality of their deliverables while respecting the agreed schedule.
  • Interfaces with associated subsea related disciplines and understands the interfaces within a project environment.
  • Provides engineering support during operations with occasional periods offshore or on yard.
  • Ensures all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed.
  • Participates actively to the PG department know-how consolidation.
  • Proposes innovative solutions allowing cost & risks reduction.

  • Support standards and procedures for the Engineering and Operations Functions.

 PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Previous installation engineering background (methods or analysis, field engineer) is essential.
  • Previous experience working on pipelay projects (i.e. Fixed Lay, J-Lay, S-Lay) is essential/beneficial.
  • Previous offshore worksite experience will be beneficial.
  • Ability to work in small teams and to regularly interface with teams located in other Subsea7 offices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build and maintain strong business relationships at all levels.
  • Collaborative team worker able to work autonomously and take ownership.
