Position Overview

We are seeking to recruit a self-motivated and high performing Inspection Lead to join our   team in Houston, Texas. The successful candidate will be part of the Global Survey & Inspection function to provide inspection related expertise to our IRM team and customers in the GOM region.

The role reports directly to the Inspection Operations Manager based in Aberdeen with a functional reporting line into our regional IRM business in Houston.

 The main function of the role is to provide technical expertise and support in the definition and supply of Inspection related requirements to Subsea 7 projects and tenders. The role will involve being a focal point for all customer related Subsea Inspection activities, developing customer relations, understanding client requirements, develop associated methodologies, procedures and budgets and facilitate between internal functions and external suppliers to deliver the required services.

The individual will be required to support offshore operations during mobilization and demobilization phases.  The role will be an onshore position with possible occasional temporary offshore assignments and international travel as required.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical and commercial input to tenders and business development activities within the region to increase Subsea 7’s regional market share in subsea inspection
  • Provision of Inspection support to projects to develop appropriate project procedures and reports in alignment with Subsea 7 processes and quality plan
  • Ensuring all Inspection related activities are undertaken in accordance with Subsea 7 HSEQ procedures
  • Identifying, reviewing, and assessing offshore personnel requirements
  • Identifying required equipment and communicating the requirements to the internal support group(s) to ensure timely delivery of equipment to worksites
  • Developing and enhancing working relationship with key 3rd party service providers in region
  • Monitoring & scheduling inspection project resources and work progress within the region
  • Providing inspection technical support to relevant R&D project(s) within both the region and globally
  • Providing technical support on inspection techniques including but not limited to:
    • NDT (MPI / ACFM / UT / FMD & CP)
    • Inspection & Survey based software systems

 

Essential

  • Demonstrable understanding of the GOM subsea inspection market, clients, and governmental inspection regulations
  • Certified CSWIP 3.4U qualification
  • Experience of IRM operations involving ROVs/Divers
  • Knowledge of Non-Destructive Techniques (NDT) relating to Subsea Inspection
  • Experience of any of the following Subsea Inspection Software Systems:
    • COABIS
    • NEXUS
    • AIMS
    • VisualSoft
    • EIVA
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

 

Desirable

  • UT, ACFM, CP and other NDT Qualifications
  • Experience in Project Management and supporting Tendering & Business Development
  • Experience with survey techniques, technologies and procedures related to IMR activities
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate good leadership qualities, be able to present and communicate our inspection services to customers
  • Candidates should also be able to work without direct supervision and on own initiative. A structured approach to daily tasks with the ability to handle complex tasks and attention to detail is deemed essential
