We are looking for an entry level Communications Advisor, with a passion for internal communications, to support Subsea 7’s Global Offshore Resources and Pipeline Group.  This support will extend to Subsea 7’s remote global worforce including offshore crew and operational sites.

Reporting to the Communications Specialist (Offshore Resources & Pipeline Group) the Communications Advisor will assist with the implementation of internal communications strategies that support the delivery of strategic and operational objectives, while enhancing employee engagement. 

The role would suit an already experienced Communications Co-ordinator, ready to step up to the next level, who remains comfortable working in a hands-on support role. 

Applicants must demonstrate initiative and the motivation to take ownership of tasks while being a corroborative worker.  Also, an enthusiasm for self-learning and a desire to undertake and successfully deliver new challenges.

A fast-paced role, this will provide a wide variety of projects communicating with a large, global onshore team and our remote offshore crews.

This contract role is a full-time position based in our Westhill office in Aberdeen.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Creation and distribution of engaging content for all internal communication channels including digital newsletters, intranet news, internal magazines, Yammer.
  • Maintain internet digital channels including, employee intranet, offshore crew application and internal social media channels.
  • Copywriting and copyediting.
  • Ensure brand alignment and consistency across Offshore Resources and Pipeline Group.
  • Co-ordination of internal events, both in-person and virtual, including measuring post-event success and suggesting improvements.
  • Liaise with external agencies to create high quality communications outputs.
  • Support day-to-day communications to both the Offshore Resources and Pipeline Group Teams respective groups, including offshore and operational work sites including digital marketing campaigns, promotions, presentations, events and projects.
  • Develop a constructive and professional relationship with all stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance to Subsea 7’s corporate brand guidelines.
  • Communications interface with the wider Communications team to support company-wide initiatives and activities.
  • The role may occasionally support external communication activities to promote and protect Subsea 7’s reputation; in particular to position Subsea 7 as an employer of choice and in the provision of emergency response support.
  • Undertake adhoc additional duties in line with experience.




  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations or related field (role relevant experience may replace this requirement).
  • Established experience in a similar role/level.
  • Experience of writing internal communication.
  • Experience in digital and social media platforms.
  • High level of proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.


  • Oil & Gas, Energy or Marine industry experience.
  • Experience communicating with a remote workforce.
  • SharePoint online experience.
  • Graphic design skills.
