The Business Development Manager works within Business Development and Strategy in the Sales and Marketing Department. The main purpose of the Business Development Manager is to position Subsea 7 as preferred supplier based on market intelligence and strategic planning. The position will mainly focus on the Energy Transition markets, reporting to Business Development and Strategy Manager, Norway.

Key responsibilities:

  • Act as focal point and competence centre for Energy Transition activities in Norway
  • Obtain and maintain overview of Energy Transition market activities
  • Explore strategic opportunities for Subsea 7 within Energy Transition
  • Mapping of clients, competitors and suppliers
  • The Business Development Manager will identify and build a portfolio consisting of clients who focus on Energy Transition
  • Establish and maintain an industry network including clients, suppliers and other external stakeholders
  • Close collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Together with the Business Analyst, establish and maintain Client Account Plans
  • Identification of potential new prospects, client technology requirements and key drivers
  • Responsibility for accuracy of prospect information
  • Establish and drive pursuit and capture plans for all qualifying opportunities
  • Pursue and distribute client, prospect, competitor and industry intelligence to relevant internal stakeholders
  • Perform with the utmost integrity and in compliance with Subsea 7 values and policies


  • Commercial or Technical Degree. (Extensive relevant experience may replace the requirement for a degree)
  • Minimum 10 years relevant industry experience
  • Strong interest and knowledge within Energy Transition and Floating Wind in particular
  • Organisational awareness and solid network
  • Clear and effective oral and written communications skills in both Norwegian and English
  • Good computer literacy
