Join Seaway7 as a HSEQ Marine Advisor in our Oslo, Norway office on a full time, staff basis.
As a HSEQ Marine Advisor, you will play a key role in ensuring safe, compliant and efficient operations across our Heavy Transport fleet. You’ll collaborate with vessel crews, technical managers and project teams to promote a proactive safety culture, conduct vessel audits and risk assessments, and provide specialised guidance on marine safety standards.

What will you be doing?
- Monitor and audit the implementation of the 3rd party vessel manager’s Safety Management Systems (SMS) in line with ISM, ISPS, MLC, and ISO standards.
- Work with Superintendents, DPA/CSO, Marine Crew, Loadmasters and Engineers to embed a practical and effective approach to performance.
- Ensure project activities meet the HSE & Quality regulatory requirements and Client’s requirements and promote initiatives to boost performance.
- Responsible for the co-ordination, preparation and delivery of HSE & Quality documents for the Heavy Transport business unit.
- Support improvements to the Heavy Transportation department, e.g. record and close out non-conformities and other quality failures, keep overview of lessons learned and address in regular meetings.
- Prepare risk assessments and facilitate review sessions with stakeholders.
Typical activities in practice
- Conduct vessel visits to verify SMS compliance and support the crew.
- Participate in marine operations reviews, toolbox talks, and pre-loading meetings.
- Act as the link between vessel crews, technical managers, and shore-based teams.
- Manage or support incident investigations and follow-up actions.
- Review and facilitate risk assessments and operational safety plans.
- Support tenders and projects by providing marine HSE & Quality input.
This marine role is unique as it involves a mix of office-based work and travel to vessels, ports and project locations:
- Occasional offshore or vessel time
- Working with multinational crews
- Addressing real-time operational risks
What experience would we like you to have?
- Relevant previous experience in the marine or offshore environment, ideally with first experience in the HSE & Quality discipline.
- Previous experience as a Deck Officer is beneficial.
- Professional qualification in Health & Safety, Environment and Quality Management or a degree with marine or technical background.
- Good understanding of maritime legislation (MARPOL, SOLAS).
- Adequate knowledge and experience with safety regulations (ISM, ISO, TMSA), preferably certified internal auditor.
- Trained in Incident Investigation Analysis is beneficial
