Title: SCM Specialist

What will you be doing?
The SCM Specialist has the responsibility to engage the supply lines for procurement of designated materials and services.
• Work is predominantly on projects and tenders. Capex expenditures as well as any other SCM requirements Seaway 7 may have are also part of the role.
• Pro-actively defines procurement strategies and serves as SCM guide to internal stakeholders
• Focus is on smaller number of transactions of mid and high complexity Supply Chain solutions.
• Activities have direct impact on the cost base of Seaway 7.
• The Senior capacity of this role requires the SCM specialist to proactively define procurement strategies, also beyond a single transaction or project, as well as making suggestions for improvement of business processes. Moreover the Senior role shall proactively support fellow team members.
• The Lead capacity of this role additionally actively contributes to development and implementation of long-term sourcing strategies as well category management.Additionally, this role may be asked to head a team of SCM specialists to support a designated (large) project.
What will you be responsible for
PRE-AWARD PHASE
• Co-operates pro-actively with all internal stakeholders to understand needs of Seaway 7 business.
• Collects all information required to efficiently and economically engage relevant supply lines. Such information may include end-client flow-downs as well as Subsea7 Group category strategies.
• Defines procurement strategy in co-operation with internal stakeholders and expert disciplines.
• Obtains quotes and conducts commercial evaluations, aiming to identify best economical solutions for relevant business needs.
• Engages with preferred suppliers to achieve advantageous arrangements Seaway 7 in a timely fashion.
• Performs commercial analyses; normalizes and evaluates bids received. Incorporates technical evaluations from disciplines like Engineering, Planning, QHSE, Contracts / Legal, etc.
• Finalises the bid summary. Makes recommendations to internal stakeholders.
• Keeps strategy and project procurement plan up to date.
• Continuously endeavours to optimise cost, quality and schedule flexibility.
• Finalizes all subcontract documents for signature by authorised signatory.
• Supplier relationship management; schedules meetings with regular suppliers to manage expectations and align business interests.
• Works according to Seaway 7 Business Management System and SCM tools.
• Operates in accordance with Seaway 7 Business Code of Conduct.
• Safeguards compliance with company policies, objectives, environmental impact, safety and customer requirements.
POST-AWARD PHASE
• Supervises effective delivery of subcontracted services and goods in
conjunction with internal stakeholders and relevant disciplines like QHSE Document
Control, etc.
• Performs day-to-day management of supplier performance.
• Reviews all correspondence associated with supplier performance and takes
necessary actions if required. Where applicable, keeps the correspondence registers
up to date.
• Contributes to the realisation of the project objectives. Stays aware of the key
project matters, project schedule, planning and organisation.
• Ensures appropriate delivery of goods and services.
• Manages and negotiates all Variation Order. Cooperates with Contracts / Legal
Discipline as applicable
• Reviews supplier’s invoices and the final accounts.
• Takes care of subcontract close-out. Obtains relevant documentation from suppliers
and, where relevant, obtains as-built documentation.
• Initiates and participates in supplier performance evaluations and populates lessons
learned reports

• As a minimum bachelor level in a technical, commercial or legal discipline.
• Comprehensive oral and written communications skills. English language is mandatory. Proficiency in another language would be a significant advantage.

• Comfortable negotiator; easy communicator.
• Great sense of integrity.
• Adequate level of stress tolerance.
• Pro-active, resourceful and problem-solving abilities with a hands-on attitude.
• Knowledge of relevant rules and regulations for offshore industry is beneficial.
• Advanced User Microsoft Office as well as SAP / Ariba.
• At least 5-7 years relevant working experience within procurement.
• Is willing to travel and work abroad from time to time.
