Title: Senior Contracts Specialist
Taipei, TW
We are looking for a Senior Contracts Specialist to join our team at our Taipei, Taiwan office on a full time, staff basis.
The role reports to the Contracts Manager, providing commercial and contractual expertise in relation to project activities.
What will you be doing?
- Operating within standardised Contract management policies, processes and systems and ensures compliance with these processes at all times.
- Verifying that the Seaway 7 legal entity corporate governance and financial authority rules are complied with when assisting with any transaction.
- Ensuring that knowledge management systems are fully utilised, updated, promotes continuous improvement and contributes to Lessons Learned.
- Making a positive contribution to the Execution phase of project, as assigned, following appropriate Contracts processes and procedures.
- Providing the Project Manager with accurate summaries of contract related matters.
- Performing activities related to the evaluation and award of subcontracts.
- Providing administration of bank bonds, parent company guarantees and insurance certificates.
- Overseeing the resolution of contractual financial disputes and co-ordinate Project variations and claims and Management of change.
- Monitoring and controlling contract variances identified within the project.
- Ensuring seamless integration between purchasing and sub-contract activities.
- Providing guidance on contract / commercial requirements to the project team.
- Keeping the project personnel aware of contractual obligations and goals.
- Contributing to contract reviews, attending tender boards, client meetings if required, contributing to draft contracts, contract discussions, requesting and compiling required documentation.
- Overseeing the Contracts Administration Kick Off meeting.
- Ensuring identification and monitoring of contractual obligations, key deliverables (to client and from contractors and subcontractors), identify risks and opportunities.
- Performing all contractual administration tasks including the preparation and review of correspondence, including registration and filing of correspondence and ensuring correct follow up of formal correspondence.
- Raising Early Warning Notices.
- Ensuring all Variations and Claims are processed and agreed in accordance with the contract requirements and timelines.
- Actively contributing to insurance and/or variation claims.
What experience would we like you to have?
- Degree qualified in a role relevant subject, e.g. Business Management, Law and Engineering, Quantity Surveying.
- Membership / affiliation with role relevant professional body is advantageous but not essential.
- Demonstrable relevant experience in a similar role within the energy industry, preferably subsea.
- Shows credibility and professionalism, working with the highest standards of integrity.
- Ability to negotiate and guide decisions at all levels.
- Ability to place contractual risks in their true practical and commercial perspective.
- People management skills; able to motivate and develop a team.
- Effective planning skills, accustomed to meeting multiple deadlines.
- Demonstrates initiative and ownership to manage own tasks, while able to work collaboratively with team members and key stakeholders.
- Responds effectively to process adjustments and identifies improvements in cost and efficiency.
- Accustomed to a 24/7 global multicultural environment, ability to adapt accordingly.
- Computer literate across the MS suite, including Sharepoint.
