Seaway7 are looking for a HSE Engineer to join our team at our Zoetermeer, Netherlands office on a full-time staff basis.

 

As a HSE Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in promoting a proactive Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) culture across both onshore and offshore operations. You will support the implementation and continuous improvement of the HSE Management System, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards, and driving initiatives that enhance safety performance and operational integrity.

What will you be doing?

 

  • Promote and embed the company’s safety culture, including initiatives like Work Safe Home Safe.
  • Support the implementation and improvement of HSE strategies and management systems across global operations.
  • Act as a point of contact for HSE-related queries from internal teams and supply chain.
  • Conduct and support incident and near-miss investigations using root cause analysis methodologies (e.g., TopSet, Taproot).
  • Facilitate risk assessments, reviews, and HSE audits (internal and external).
  • Support vessel dry-docking, technical stops, and marine operations.
  • Develop HSE Plans, Bridging Documentation, and Emergency Response Plans.
  • Deliver HSE training, familiarisations, and awareness programs.
  • Monitor and report on HSE performance, trends, and supplier compliance.
  • Maintain legal compliance registers and support assurance activities.
  • Review worksite data and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with project teams and HSE peers to ensure consistent standards and continuous improvement.
  • Capture and apply lessons learned to improve safety across operations.

What experience would we like you to have?

 

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in HSEQ or related field.
  • NEBOSH Certificate/Diploma, NVQ Level 6, or equivalent.
  • ISO 45001 and/ or ISO 9001 Auditor qualification and legal compliance and risk management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in offshore construction, maritime, or renewable energy sectors.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of UK and international HSE legislation and quality standards.
  • Experience with incident investigation tools and HSE case management systems (e.g., Synergi).
  • Great communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to write clear and coherent reports and documentation.

 

Desirable

 

  • Membership in a professional body (e.g., IOSH).
  • BOSIET and Offshore Medical (or ability to obtain).
  • Familiarity with behavioural safety programs and performance trend analysis.
