The role of Logisitcs Manager is a functional position reporting to the SCM Director and managing a team of logistics specialists located in the Seaway7 offices and worksites. The primary aim of this position is to guarantee that Seaway7's logistics and warehousing requirements are fulfilled in an efficient and economically sound manner

 

The Logsitcs Manager has global responsiiblity for management of goods movement, transportation, warehousing, material tracking, inventory, customs, compliance, and supply chain.

  • Develop and maintain business processes and role descriptions.
  • Lead and connect teams towards common goals.

What will you be doing?

 

• Develop a team of logistics and warehousing specialist, adequately trained and deployed on tenders and projects.

• Maintain a resource plan up to date, anticipate the needs for recruitment to support future projects.

• Ensure smooth and efficient Seaway7 Logistics & Warehousing operations. Activities include expediting, transportation, material tracking, inventory management, customs, compliance and associated supply chain management.

• Develop and maintain deep technical, commercial and strategic understanding of the Logistics and Warehousing domain within the department.

• Collaborate with functional and operational leaders to establish goals and the related strategies for implementation, encompassing the broader Subsea7 Group.

• Be visible as the Company’s authority for Logistics & Warehousing matters.

• Develop, implement and improve Business Management systems, tools and processes to ensure full control over L&W operations.

• Maintains, develops and analyse data sets related to L&W operations. Data sets include supplier KPIs, cost, delivery times, inventory, customs, export control, etc.

• Develop and maintain effective inventory management systems, while ensuring auditable records are kept of all purchased material.

• Engage with relevant stakeholders and expert disciplines to assess and comprehend risks and opportunities.

• Strive for ongoing enhancements in cost efficiency, quality standards, scheduling adaptability, and risk management.

• Support tender and project teams by delivering logistics plans and budgets for the movement of all goods and equipment.

• Diversify Logistics & Warehousing pool of suppliers. Oversees sourcing, registration, pre-qualification, screening and auditing.

• Negotiate and award subcontracts with relevant suppliers. Maintain efficient and trustful relationships with key suppliers.

• Define and pursue internal and external Key Performance Indicators.

• Supervise Supplier performance analysis and review.

• Ensure compliance with Governmental Regulations and Seaway7 Policies.

• Apply for any licenses and authorizations associated with L&W operations.

• Operates in accordance with Seaway7 Business Code of Conduct.

• Safeguards compliance with Company policies, practices, environmental impact, safety, customer requirements and any governing regulations.

 

What experience would we like you to have?

 

• Bachelor’s degree in any of the following subjects: (i) Logistics & Supply Chain Management, (ii) Business Administration or (iii) Engineering.

• At least 10 years of working experience in relevant industry, with a good understanding of operations and Logistics & Warehousing activities, of which 5 years managing a Team.

• Thorough understanding of supply chain management, including procurement, international transportation, warehousing and customs.

• Proficient in INCO Terms.

• A comprehensive understanding of local and international regulations governing the transport of goods, such as customs procedures, import/export regulations, transport documents, dangerous goods and safety standards. Knowledge of relevant rules and regulations for offshore industry.

• High degree of diligence during day-to-day business; accurate.

• Comfortable negotiator; easy communicator.

• Addressing issues with a notable level of efficiency and proficiency.

• Engaged and innovative thinker with a focus on effective problem resolution.

• Advanced User Microsoft Office Suite and SAP / Ariba.

• Willingness to travel and/or work abroad from time to time.

• Highly effective in organizing tasks and projects.
