The active fleet comprises ten vessels with two more high-specification assets, designed for the installation of next generation of wind turbine generators and foundations, under construction.

We are looking for a fulltime Naval Architect to join our Specialist Engineering Department that could be based in our Engineering hubs in Aberdeen, Oslo or Zoetermeer. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role of Naval Architect is performed within the Specialist Engineering team that supports the projects in tender, engineering and offshore execution.

Typical naval section activities:
• Multi body analysis of marine operations.
• Workability analysis.
• CFD analysis.
• Mooring analysis. Vessel to Seabed
• Quayside Mooring
• Vessel to vessel mooring
• DP capability analysis, project specific.
• Positioning footprints project specific.
• Stability of crane vessels, transportation barges, other vessels, submerged structures.
• Longitudinal strength calculations.
• Loadout engineering
• Transportation analysis. Design input for grillage and seafastening. Sailability limits
• Towing engineering. Tug selection.
• Mating impact analysis
• Workability Forecast
• Offshore / yard experience
• Preparation and class approval of loading manuals and onboard computer programs.
• Preparation of parts of vessel’s operations manual.
• Supervision and checking of external engineering.
• Investigation of modification proposals.
• Preparations for operational upgrades.
• Engineering assistance for ship repair and dry-docking.
• Design, weight, loading and cost calculation for vessels and barges.
• Prepare technical specifications for construction/conversion/modification of vessels/barges.

 

Capability Profile / Qualifications:

  • BSc/ /MSc degree in Naval Architecture, Marine or Offshore Technology
  • Experience in offshore or shipbuilding is preferred
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of relevant software (AQWA, Ansys Fluent/CFX, Shipshape, Matlab, GMoor, DPCap, MS Office) is preferred
  • Good command of English
