POSITION OVERVIEW

Seaway 7 ASA is a pure-play renewables company, headquartered in Oslo and focused on offshore fixed wind. We are looking for a Graduate Project Engineer to be a part of our expanding engineering team within the Offshore Wind Turbine Installation segment with main activities based in Vejle, Denmark. 

The Graduate Project Engineer needs to fit into our team with skills in both technical project management, structural/mechanical engineering and preferably knowledge within naval architecture, geotechnical and/or marine engineering.

Your main tasks will consist of providing input to or leading technical development projects, assisting our Tender Managers with technical documentation for WTG T&I projects, and being in the centre of a small and highly skilled team preparing and executing Wind Turbine Installation T&I projects. All tasks will require utilizing both your engineering and technical management skills to prepare technical documentation, coordinate consultants and sub-contractors, as well as plan and lead installation vessel mobilizations on site.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Vessel drawings such as layouts and lifting assessments
  • Vessel, engineering and feasibility studies
  • Method statements and risk assessments
  • Lift plans
  • Vessel stability and strength evaluations
  • Vessel operation and jacking procedures
  • Prepare, facilitate and follow up on design and operational risk workshops
  • Prepare or provide input to time schedules and budgets
  • Liaise with internal engineering and marine operation specialists
  • Coordinate engineering consultants and fabrication/mobilization sub-contractors
  • Lead planning and execution of vessel mobilizations
  • Ensure high quality and efficiency in own and sub-contracted work
  • Participating in technical meeting with clients

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

Essential

A higher technical education in structural, geotechnical or mechanical engineering, marine technology, naval architecture or similar at BSc or MSc level.

Desirable 

  • Experience with wind turbine transport and installation
  • Preferably knowledge on cranes and lifting operations
  • Relevant working experience for the role described

    • Understanding of design and manufacturing of steel structures as well as marine operations
    • Vessel strength calculations
    • Technical drawings
    • Lifting operations
