Role Overview

Subsea 7 is developing a number of Engineering digitalisation initiatives that will bring significant long-term value and benefits to the company. These improvements will be realised through changing and optimising the technical delivery of our Projects with the application of new systems and tools. One of these key initiatives is the implementation of a Product Lifecycle Management Tool to support the technical delivery of our projects. Subsea 7 has been working in conjunction with a class leading PLM system provider to develop a PLM system suitable for Subsea 7’s needs.

Subsea 7 has the opportunity for a PLM Implementation Manager within our Digitalisation team. The purpose of the PLM Implementation Manager role is to lead the implementation and further development of the PLM tool within Subsea 7.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible and accountable for leading the overall implementation and on time delivery of Subsea 7’s PLM solution into the business.
  • Actively leading Subsea 7’s existing PLM team to support the implementation program.
  • Defining the requirements for the implementation program to ensure that it meets the business needs and incorporates key lessons learned from the roll out of other digital initiatives.
  • Engage with the Project stakeholders at a more detailed level and agree/drive the implementation plan with the project on both Technical and change elements.
  • Engage with the PLM Systems Manager (Engineering Systems) to ensure collaboration for the implementation effort between IT, the PLM team and the business.
  • Lead the change management workstream in conjunction with the change management team for the individual projects selected for the implementation plan.
  • Balance meeting the project needs with ensuring compliance with global agreed processes. 
  • Drive appropriate Project implementation KPIs on adoption / value / throughput / quality metrics to ensure convergence to the programme goals.
  • Responsible for Client / Alliance engagement on the running PLM projects.
  • Ensure that all process / ways of working flow charts and documentation is in place, relevant, accessible and up to date. 
  • Guide the PLM team in conjunction with the business to identify and develop the key future system developments to be implemented and prepare an implementation plan accordingly.
  • Drive organisational and employee adoption of the new technologies and practices associated with the initiatives to maximize the realisation of expected benefits and support the organisation in identification of changes needed.
  • Develop good working knowledge of the PLM system.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining an overall implementation schedule.
  • Capture and address feedback from the project teams during the implementation phase.
  • Liaising with other digital initiatives to understand and develop the interface points with these initiatives. E.g. E7, SAP, Integrated Engineering Platform.
  • Liaise with PLM solution provider to ensure support to deployment and potential improvement actions. Manage the delivery by this supplier with the support of the technical team.

The Digitalisation PLM Implementation Manager will:

  • Ensure successful and on schedule implementation of Subsea 7s PLM program.
  • Proactively guiding and manage Subsea 7’s PLM team to ensure timely delivery.
  • Ensuring the specific projects (chosen for the implementation) and business is fully engaged with the PLM system implementation plan
  • Ensuring the change management activities are actively implemented.
  • Develop and implement plan to fully realise all the PLM capabilities including integration with other systems.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

 

Essential

  • Knowledge of PLM system implementation on a large scale (> 500 + users).
  • Relevant project management experience for such a role.
  • Experienced in Engineering Management, tools and phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Experience of and knowledge of change management principles.
  • Track record of on schedule delivery.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Good listening skills.
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.
  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.
  • Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization.
  • Business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges.

Desirable:  

Ideal

  • Project Management certification or designation.
  • Experience of engineering and/or industrial organisations.
  • Siemens Teamcenter experience advantageous
