Pipeline Design Engineer

OFFICE LOCATION: Singapore

We provide project management, engineering and construction expertise across the full field lifecycle. These services are delivered within three operational business units: Subsea and Conventional, Life of Field, and Renewables and Heavy Lifting.

Within Africa, Middle East & Caspian region (AMEC), we safely execute Subsea and Conventional projects which connect seabed wellhead infrastructures to surface facilities such as platforms and floating production systems. We are actively present in a significant number of countries in Africa, Europe, Caspian Sea, Middle East and Asia.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Production of design calculations for pipelines, spool pieces, tie ins, risers and umbilicals/cables/flexible. 
    • Undertake planning, detailing and reviewing of technical documentation relating to subsea pipelines’ construction and installation.
    • Undertake analysis, design and engineering activities associated with subsea construction and installation.
    • Review the design output of more junior engineers.
    • Design and detailing in accordance with acknowledged industry Codes, Standards and Design Guides (e.g. DNV, BS, API,); Client Specifications and Scopes of Work.
    • Production of design documentation including feasibility reports, detailed design reports, construction drawings, design specifications, material take-offs, weight control calculations, etc.
    • Be aware of associated subsea related disciplines and understand the interfaces within a project environment.
    • Provide engineering assistance and support during mobilisations and occasional periods of offshore or site working in support of pipelay and trenching operations.
    • Provide technical engineering support to other departments within the Central Engineering Group, the Project Engineering Group, and to colleagues in terms of training and mentoring.
    • Develop a specialist knowledge of specific area of pipeline analysis and design.
    • Actively participate in events such as Bid Clarifications, Kickoff meetings, HIRAs, Design Reviews, etc.

PROFILE – QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURS 

  • Graduated with an Engineering Degree
  • Ability to lead and function within a design team and across multiple projects.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload, manage time accordingly and inform team members where constraints will affect a project in terms of programme or budget.
  • Manage interfaces within a project structure, including other disciplines, drawing office, document control, project management, client and suppliers.
  • Manage change control within own remit on a project.  Inform team members where constraints will affect a project in terms of programme or budget.
  • Demonstrable ability to work within time/budget constraints
