Cost Administrator Controller 

Location: Istanbul- Turkey

Within Africa, Middle East & Caspian region (AMEC), we safely execute Subsea and Conventional projects which connect seabed wellhead infrastructures to surface facilities such as platforms and floating production systems. We are actively present in a significant number of countries in Africa, Europe, Caspian Sea, Middle East and Asia.

 

OVERVIEW OF ROLE

The position shall form part of the Project Cost Control team and the Operations Department.

The Project Cost Administrator Controller ensures accurate, timely and value added analysis and reporting on a project or projects.  The discipline contributes to the effective running of projects and comprises responsibility for, but not limited to cost performance status reporting.
 
The role ensures the provision of all cost control on the project including budget set up, updates and monitoring, change management, variation estimating, cost reporting, risk contingency and management as well as all forecasting activities. The role reports functionally to Managing Director and directly to Operations Manager.

This task shall be executed within the out most respect of all Subsea7 procedures, code of ethics and HSES policy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and communicate processes and routines required for effective control and reporting during the project lifecycle to all team members
  • Follow up & report all project’s cost commitments, related to logistics and operations In-Country Operations Management & Project Management
  • Monitor spending and commitments with a special focus on logistics and operations aspects
  • Ensure all requests to any logistics sub-contractors/providers are always done via work orders and sent prior executions.
  • Ensure Logistic & Ops activity trackers are up to date and all requests recorded.
  • Ensure all costs are tracked and registered on a daily manner. Cost tracker will have to build a strong relation with suppliers and teams onsite to have accurate figures
  • Check, approve/reject and record all Suppliers invoices falling in his/her perimeter
  • “Cost saving” oriented, able to challenge suppliers
  • Monitor and follow with finance dept, payments to suppliers. Track and work to avoid any overdue payments to suppliers
  • Responsible for the reconciliation of forecasted and actual expenditures and the production of project accruals
  • Support and assist project cost controllers to prepare costs and financial input to the PMSR (Project Monthly Status Report)
  • Ensure compliance with company rules pertaining to cost commitments and cost control.
  • Participates in initiatives (such as development of tools & process) as and when required
  • Develops self and encourages development of others
  • Expected to contribute to creating a culture of ethics and integrity within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to our Code of Conduct.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Upper education certificate in relevant field (ideally in Cost Management, Finance)
  • Significant experience of establishing and performing Cost Control on various types and size of projects.
  • Experience on site/on ground, in direct contact with logistics stakeholders
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills and accurate reporting, both written and verbal,
  • Accounting skills
  • Strong Excel knowledge
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Must be fluent in English (oral and written)
  • Experience in supply chain, procurement
  • Knowledge of Logistics and shipping
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety & Quality
