OVERVIEW OF ROLE

We are currently recruiting for an Integrity / ECA Engineer (Fracture & Fatigue) to be based within the Engineering Critical Assessment (ECA) team in our Pipeline Group and operating in the Sutton, London office.

The successful candidate will specialise in the fracture and fatigue integrity assessment of pipeline welds and providing focused input to global projects.

Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities

  • Carry out pipeline fracture mechanics and fatigue based weld defect assessment, i.e., pipeline Engineering Critical Assessment (ECA) in accordance with acknowledged industry codes, standards and design guides, client specifications and scopes of work.
  • Lead project ECA activities and assess required resource adjustments.
  • Conduct advanced 3D finite element analyses associated with subsea pipeline installation engineering.
  • Write technical project documents.
  • Perform checking of analysis work of peer ECA analyst.
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines (material and welding, installation and pipeline design engineering) client and 3rd party.
  • Manage internal R&D study and engineering improvement projects as assigned.
  • Provide ECA engineering support to Concept study, Tendering and FEED study execution.
  • Consolidate group experience in discipline.
  • Mentors and nurtures junior analyst.
  • Actively participate in relevant training to pursue continuing professional development.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • Professional qualifications – Degree qualified or above
  • Track record in fracture mechanics and fatigue assessment of welds
  • Experience in ABAQUS for 3D FE modelling
  • Familiar with relevant structural integrity assessment codes (BS7910, DNV and API etc)
  • Be prepared to provide focused input to subsea projects and work to tight schedules working within tight deadlines set by management
  • Present self in a professional manner appropriate to the role
  • Produces work of presentable quality
  • Ability to prioritise and organise work
  • A demonstrable commitment to HSE and Quality
  • Shall be self-motivated and have well developed interpersonal skills to work

Desirable Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • Membership to a relevant Professional body
  • Familiarity with recognised industry engineering software
