Subsea 7 requires a Senior Technical Safety & Risk Engineer to join their Paris offices which are based in Suresnes (92). Technical Safety & Reliability is an engineering function reporting through Project & Installation Engineering and into the Engineering Director. The role will be part of the Global Project Centre and Asia Pacific team (GPC & AP)
This is a role which requires engineering knowledge, strong communication skills and personal attributes to drive risk management and technical safety to successful conclusions across all aspects of the organisation.
SPECIFIC ROLE & RESPONSIBILITY
- Primarily responsible for Technical Safety & Risk Engineering support to all aspects of company business including Projects and Operations.
- Experienced in facilitation & participation of HAZID/HAZOP, FMECA, Technology assessments and general risk management sessions.
- Consequence assessments including dropped object impact assessment and subsea gas release
- Ensure risk mitigation effectiveness of design and operations through legislative compliance, identification, and management of risk factors from tender stage through to successful completion of projects.
- Understanding and application of the principles of ALARP.
- Adoption and application of formal company risk management policy into all projects, functions and areas of business, including quantification of risk and formal reporting.
- Manage Safety Engineering, Risk Management and Reliability deliverables and resources for project work scopes.
- Undertake reliability studies and demonstration to meet client needs and specifications.
- Produce deliverables such as Risk reports; Reliability demonstration; Design Review reports; technical analysis/study reports; company technical guidelines; specifications and procedures review; CTRs; MoM; progress reports; technical bid evaluations. Accept accountability for quality, timely delivery and budget of all deliverables.
- Competent technical report writing.
- Sign and issue technical documentation as originator checker or approver, accepting personal responsibility for its adequacy and accuracy.
- Provide engineering and technical input to project teams where required; investigate technical queries and provide risk-based solutions.
- Design and detailing in accordance with acknowledged industry Codes, Standards and Design Guides, Client Specifications and Scopes of Work.
- Lead and manage the output from technical safety meetings.
- Advise on placing holds on operations which are considered to present an unacceptable risk to the company.
- Train / mentor junior engineers.
- Collaborate with tendering team to prepare and issue submissions in support of ITTs; Tender risk-based assessment.
- Competent use of IT and ability to adapt to risk management and engineering software packages accordingly.

- Competent facilitator and communicator, comfortable with taking the lead and managing intensive risk meetings to conclusion.
- Comfortable with communicating at all levels.
- Ability to prioritize own and others' workload, manage time accordingly and inform team members where constraints will affect a project in terms of program or budget. Manage change effectively.
- Manage interfaces within a project structure, including other disciplines, document control, project management, client and suppliers.
- Demonstrate ability to work within time/budget constraints.
EDUCATION / TRAINING
It is essential for candidates to be educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in Technical Safety/ Reliability Engineering discipline
The ability to articulate learning and training experiences is essential.
TECHNICAL SKILLS

EXPERIENCE
It is essential for candidates to have proficient experience within Safety Engineering / Risk & Reliability Management at senior level in the oil & gas/petrochemical/process industries.

Based in Suresnes (92) with occasional requirement to travel on business to visit vendors, fabrication sites, clients, other company sites, company vessels, offshore installations, overseas project support etc.
