OVERVIEW OF ROLE

Subsea 7 is looking for Riser & Installation Analysis Engineers who can strengthen our team and support our ambitious growth plans within the Global Project Centre (GPC) Engineering Team based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  

 

We will consider applications at Engineer Level I, II, Senior or Principal Engineer for this role. 

 

Reporting to the Riser Discipline Manager, the Riser & Installation Analysis Engineer is responsible to conduct analysis in compliance with codes, Subsea 7 requirements, and Client specifications and to define installation acceptance criteria. The engineer will be assigned to projects and or tenders and will have to deliver high-quality engineering to meet commercial and technical needs.  Candidates with more experience will also supervise younger engineers.

 

Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities

Perform engineering design and analysis mainly related to the rigid risers, flexible pipeline, umbilical, flying leads, spools/jumpers and subsea structures lift and deployment to seabed including but not limited to:

  • In-place analysis of rigid riser systems (SCR / SLWR) including strength, interference and fatigue analyses
  • In-place analysis of dynamic umbilical and flexible systems (risers, flowlines, jumpers)
  • Analysis for different subsea structure installation activities
  • Analysis for different pipeline installation activities
  • Assessing pipeline behavior during installation
  • Interfacing with project team
  • Providing offshore support to on-going installation activities
  • Preparing technical project documents (e.g. installation lay-tables and analysis reports)
  • Performing checking of installation analysis work and reports
  • Liaising with project teams to obtain input data, agreeing installation feasibility and providing technical support in client reviews
  • Liaising with project teams and clients to clarify installation analysis concerns
  • Consolidating experience within the installation group discipline
  • Reporting progress to installation group manager and advising required resource adjustments
  • Mentoring and nurturing junior installation analysis engineers
  • Managing internal study projects as assigned

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • Professional qualifications: Degree qualified or above
  • Proven experience within SURF industry working for SURF Contractor or Consultancy – fresh graduates are NOT considered for these positions
  • Relevant experience in offshore installation related activities
  • Competency in design and analysis software (i.e. ORCAFLEX) is essential
  • Good knowledge of industry standards
  • Can work to deadlines set by management
  • Presents self in a professional manner appropriate to the role
  • Produces work of presentable quality
  • Ability to priorities and organize work
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within the organization
  • A demonstrable commitment to HSE and Quality
  • Shall be self-motivated and have well developed interpersonal skills

 

Desirable Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • Membership to a relevant Professional body
  • Experience in installation and construction of offshore rigid pipelines, flexibles, umbilical’s, flying leads and risers
