POSITION OVERVIEW
Seaway 7 has an exciting opportunity for a Specialist / Geotechnical Engineer to be part of the specialist geotechnical discipline, located within our Engineering Hub in either Aberdeen, Oslo or Zoetermeer.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Specialist Engineering
- Perform on Geotechnical, Survey, Subsea, Finite Element Method engineering.
- Review procedures and design documents.
- Prepare and review reports on in-house analyses.
- Contribute to internal meetings, client meetings, yard visits, mobilisations and offshore work.
- Advise up to Project Management Level on technical issues and risks.
- Act as an authority within Seaway 7. Be able to convince internal parties of the best solution.
Coordination of Third-Party Activities
- Liaising with subcontractors, clients and Seaway 7 internally on technical and logistical project matters.
- Technical coordination of subcontractor scopes. Prepare subcontractor scopes of work, review subcontractor and client provided procedures.
- Contribute to subcontractor evaluation and contents of Master Service Agreements.
Engineering Development Support
- Keep track of relevant technology developments.
- Create standardised and or template engineering tools.
- Develop specifications, guidelines and procedures.
- Develop specialist know-how exceeding typical Seaway 7 operations.
- Present Seaway 7 specialist engineering on external events such as conferences
- Have a solid expert network outside Seaway 7.
People Development
- Provide guidance to engineers with respect to field of expertise
- Provide periodic feedback on the performance of the (senior) engineers to the section head.
- Provide periodic feedback to the (senior) engineers on their performance.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- Master and or Academic Technical Degree
- Considerable years of experience within area of expertise is expected.
