Project Engineer

Location: Singapore; KSA

Within Africa, Middle East & Caspian region (AMEC), we safely execute Subsea and Conventional projects which connect seabed wellhead infrastructures to surface facilities such as platforms and floating production systems. We are actively present in a significant number of countries in Africa, Europe, Caspian Sea, Middle East and Asia.

 

Role Overview

The Project Engineer provides support to the Lead Discipline / Lead Project Engineer / Project Engineering Manager in achieving effective management and delivery of engineering tasks.  A large proportion of this work will be offshore on the construction vessel or at KSA onshore supporting mobilization, load out or shorepull operations.

When assigned to project(s), the Project Engineer supports the project in providing an interface platform to a successful & trusted client-partners and sub-contractors relationship. He/she ensures project is being effectively managed and delivered within budget, schedule and requirements.

When he/she is not involved in project offshore, Project Engineer may also support the project in the office or on site.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop technical procedures/drawings and installation engineering studies.
  • Provide support to Project / Operations / Package Manager in achieving effective management and delivery of assigned project within budget, schedule & contract requirements and achieve these through the establishment of project targets and goals
  • Monitor project execution plan, interface with project members in various departments and provide support to a robust HSEQ environment, responsibility matrix, CTR’s, schedules and WBS relative to contract requirements.
  • Support the installation works offshore or on site when required, potentially as part of a rotation with the rest of the engineering team. Monitor progress of work in accordance with the Contract requirements.
  • Support procurement activities and management of subcontractors involved in the work scopes.
  • Help implement, monitor and achieve HSE, risk and quality targets for the project.
  • Help ensure projects are planned and executed with sufficient competence, capacity, systems and tools for project execution.
  • Work under the direction of the Project Manager / Engineering / Package Manager.
  • Involved in decision making in conjunction with the Procurement department (selection of sub-contractors, vessels, resources and supplies)
  • Interface with operations department to ensure safe and successful completion of offshore work.
  • Adhere to project controls systems (i.e. document control, cost control and schedule) throughout the project.
  • Capture & document lessons learned on the project and dissemination of same within the company and various projects.
  • Ensure technical and commercial risk management processes are fully implemented.
  • Monitor progress and assist with taking timely corrective actions where necessary to limit delay and risk
  • Help resolve problems and conflicts within project
  • Implement Management of Change procedure.
  • Provide support to Discipline Manager in achieving effective management and delivery of engineering tasks.
  • Mentor, guide or train junior/graduate engineers.

Qualifications & Requirments

  • 4 years’ experience in Offshore Oil & Gas Industry with exposure to engineering and commercial/project management in either SURF, subsea pipelines, heavy lift, or similar works.
  • Bachelors or Masters in Engineering
  • Project Management Training
  • C.Eng. or P.Eng. status an advantage
  • EPCI Project or Saudi Experience (Preferably with pipelay and shorepull experience)
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative
