Designer/Draftsman

We provide project management, engineering and construction expertise across the full field lifecycle. These services are delivered within three operational business units: Subsea and Conventional, Life of Field, and Renewables and Heavy Lifting.
Within Africa, Middle East & Caspian region (AMEC), we safely execute Subsea and Conventional projects which connect seabed wellhead infrastructures to surface facilities such as platforms and floating production systems. We are actively present in a significant number of countries in Africa, Europe, Caspian Sea, Middle East and Asia.
Role Overview
The Designer/Draftsman II is responsible for producing drawings and sketches consistent with good engineering practice and in compliance with company drawing office procedures.
All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide design drafting skills of a high quality and efficient output for all project work undertaken.
- Provide CAD skills and knowledge both 2D and where appropriate 3D.
- Undertake checking of others work in a project or department environment within own experience and competence level.
- Ensure adherence to the Business Management System (BMS).
- Participate in technical audits of projects and studies when appropriate.
- Actively participate in relevant training and development to pursue continuing professional development. Participate in reviews and development of departmental procedures and work methods.
- Interface with Drawing Office Supervisor or Lead Designer/Draftsman or Principal Designer/Draftsman to ensure CAD deliverable schedule is being met and budget is on track.
- Ensure compliance with company QA and HSE procedures.
- Ensure that design services provided comply with company standards and processes in line with appropriate legislation.
- Contribute to development of standard project deliverables and efficiencies.
- Support development of apprentice training.
- Encourage awareness of department capabilities and competencies.
- Record lessons learned and Opportunities for Improvement (OFIs) to assist in improved company systems and services.
- Help ensure efficiency and quality by producing drawings and sketches consistent with good engineering practice
- Operate within standardised engineering policies, processes and systems
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards used in the drafting work carried out
- Liaise directly when instructed with Project Engineers on installation drawings and sketches
- Communicate with other Designer/Draftsmen to ensure knowledge sharing, best practice and competence
- Help ensure engineering compliance, so that Subsea 7 can deliver quality engineering solutions and avoid errors Committed to personal CPD (continuing professional development) through regular engagement with the professional engineering community on an internal and external basis to increase knowledge and understanding and maintain up to date market information

Requirments
- Ability to function within a design team and across multiple projects.
- Sound communication skills, oral, written and electronic.
- Ability to prioritise own and others’ workload, manage time accordingly and inform team members where constraints will affect a project in terms of programme or budget.
- Demonstrable ability to work within time/budget constraints Commitment to Continuing Professional Development.
