POSITION OVERVIEW

We have an exciting full-time, contract opportunity for a HSE Advisor to support the HSE activities across our UK and Global IRM Business Unit.  This will be based at our Aberdeen, Westhill office for an initial 6-month contact basis.

The HSE Advisor will provide support, advice and guidance on HSE matters to individual projects and business units.

The job holder will support projects and business units through the co-ordination and effective implementation of HSE tools, principles and objectives.

SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

General

  • Ensuring adequate HSE visibility throughout the life-cycle of projects continuously driving improvement of the HSE culture
  • Promoting and ensuring compliance with Regulatory HSE requirements, Subsea 7 Policies and Procedures, and Client HSE requirements
  • Participating in emergency response preparedness exercises
  • Supporting HSE deliverables for tenders
  • Communicating HSE matters to the wider HSE team
  • Supporting Subsea 7 Worksite Health Check Programme
  • Conducting HSE audits
  • Liaising with other internal disciplines, business units and external stakeholders

Project and Operations

  • Assuming responsibility as HSE Advisor on individual projects
  • Supporting Engineering discipline with application of the HIRA process
  • Engaging with worksite management teams and supporting operations
  • Delivery of HSE briefings
  • Monitoring and review of project HSE performance
  • Supporting the implementation of key performance indicators
  • Increasing HSE awareness through delivery of training modules
  • Facilitating the co-ordination of vessel assurance between projects and Clients
  • Supporting projects and worksites with incident investigations
  • Monitoring incident reporting and close out
  • Preparing and maintaining project specific HSE documentation
  • Supporting the facilitation of lessons learned into project planning

Clients

  • Participating in Client HSE liaison meetings
  • Following up on Client feedback addressing any HSE issues as necessary

Suppliers

  • Participating in supplier HSE liaison meetings
  • Monitoring supplier HSE performance
  • Providing HSE support for supplier pre-qualification, assessments and frame agreement.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Qualifications in relevant HSE disciplines
  • NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 5 in Occupational Health and Safety Practice
  • Chartered Member of IOSH or actively working towards CMIOSH
  • Experience working on diving projects
  • Trained in Taproot or similar tool on incident investigation analysis
  • Qualified and experienced Lead Auditor

  • Broad knowledge of applicable HSE legislation
  • Managing and recording deliverables with a high level of accuracy
  • Capable of discussing and presenting topics at Management level
