POSITION OVERVIEW:
Subsea 7 are looking to recruit a Data Engineer to work within our Pipeline Group. Subsea 7 Pipeline Group uses a wide range of business applications and intelligent equipment that records performance and process data. This role will be instrumental in developing links to legacy and fresh data, automating data management and the communication, reporting and visualisation of information to give new insights into data patterns for improvement of operational efficiencies.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely between Pipeline Group and the IT department to identify and deliver robust data connections and applications.
- With user input, develop GUI’s Power BI/Azure dashboards and reports that supports a new way of working.
- Automate processes using Python script (or other applications), establishing links, performing calculations, moves and presentation of data.
- Develop AI and ML techniques that could be used to improve efficiency and assist in developing the architecture for key data retrieval from IIOT devices.
- From legacy and incoming data, perform mining activities and develop data collection processes to generate information to give insight into trends and patterns.
- Identify data governance requirements that would assist in automating data processing.
- Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models, identify master data, material data, and data issues for improvement.
- Solution Identification to assist PG departmental awareness of retained data and/or collection of alternative information for analysis.
- Working closely with all PG functional departments, Operations, Production, Technical development, Tendering, Projects and HSEQ etc. to deliver business solutions.
- Possibility for some national and international travel, visiting sites and suppliers.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- Professional qualification, degree qualified in an IT discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Strong problem-solving capability.
- Knowledge of data systems and data quality requirements.
- Understanding of IT infrastructures that enable effective use of software applications.
- Application of cloud deployment, Azure packages, SQL and NoSQL RDBMS, Power BI, Python (or similar) and data pipelines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with good organisational skills and smart working methods.
- Awareness of PG deliverables and operational activities.
