Marine Port Logistics Captain

Reports to: Marine Base Manager

Location: Filyos- Turkey

We are actively present in a significant number of countries in Africa, Europe, Caspian Sea, Middle East and Asia.

 

OVERVIEW OF ROLE

The position shall form part of the Project Operations team and the Logistic / Operations Department.

The position is based at Filyos Port. The scope is to support Projects Marine operations at a country level, including but not limited to vessel movements to and from the offshore field, port call services, berthing, bunkering & Sea-fastening coordination.

The position shall ensure the monitoring of the Marine Operations cost commitment, including updates, follow-up and reporting / tracking, as well as forecasting all marine activities, for the project.

The role reports functionally to the In-Country Operations Manager and operationally directly to Filyos Marine Base Manager.

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.

All personnel are also expected to contribute to creating a culture of ethics and integrity within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to Subsea7 Code of Conduct.

This task shall be executed within the out most respect of all Subsea7 procedures, code of ethics and HSES policy.

RESPONSIBILITIES


• Assist Operations & Marine Base Manager with all marine Logistics activities throughout the offshore campaign.
• Support and Coordinate with operations teams planning the Vessel Port Calls and ensure all services are provided to ensure schedule is maintained.
• Assist with recording of project related services and base requests are visible to SCM / Cost Control for local expenditure committed on behalf of the project.
• Coordinate the arrival and departure of the vessels and Cargo barges with the relevant local authorities, shipping agents and stevedores in accordance with country regulations and procedures. Including:
o Organisation of berthing/vacating Subsea 7 quay side, with port authorities,
o Mobilisation of adequate lifting / transportation equipment,
o Ensure that all vessel movements are properly followed up by an In & Outward clearance communicated to agent/authorities at least 48h prior vessel movement/arrival.
• Provide onshore support when needed, including but not limited to:
o Waste management
o Fresh Water request
o Bunkering
o Sea-fastening
o NDT certification
• Coordinate loading and off-loading operations of vessels / cargo barges. Including:
o Issuance of relevant loading cargo manifests
o Issuance of relevant FCD/Work Order towards agents
• Ensure that the Projects equipment are properly stored at the Marshalling Yard.
• Ensure that the level of safety is always in conformity with Group Safety rules.
• Constantly sourcing for the optimal and the most economical Marine Logistic support organization, to the benefit of the project, by using existing resources when available.
• Control subcontractors following the values of the group and all the process.
• Stays informed of all changes in local laws and requirements.
• Prepare & follow-up, update the activities Work Orders for all marine operations activities, he/she is in charge.
• Any other tasks assigned to him/her as part of the Marine Operation.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

• Extensive knowledge of Logistics and shipping, port operations covering different types of project and cargo vessels.
• Development, improvement, and implementation of logistics, shore base and port operations.
• Knowledge of shipboard & shore applications of marine conventions, oil & gas industry practices and regulations.
• Good relationship with authorities & principals.
• Knowledge of Customs & Local Maritime Regulations
• Good observer, ability to adopt change in dynamic work environments autonomously.
• Available & Flexible during operations
• Must be fluent in English (oral and written)
• Sound awareness of Health, Safety & Quality.
