1. DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION

During the project or tender, and in particular during the engineering phase, be the focal point for Diving activities with other disciplines/department and be responsible for the delivery of engineering document related to Diving activities. Function during offshore activities will depend on skills and certifications.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

General:

  • Promote safety behaviour and safety in design.
  • Promote team Spirit within the project team
  • Contribute to project Engineering reviews on all subjects associated to (or at the interface with), the Diving scope.

 

Within the scope he/she is allocated to:

  • Responsible for technical proposal and evaluation of solutions for the projects
  • Deliver project specific Diving engineering documents (such as Tie-I Procedure, Diving Safety Manual, SIT Procedure for diving activities…).
  • Deliver project specific SIT requirements.
  • Deliver project specific technical scope of work for Diving services (3rd party).
  • Prepare and follow-up of Master Document Register and Subcontractor Document Register within project.
  • Responsible for Technical appraisal and follow-up of sub-contractors
  • Deliver specification and requisitions for the design and /or selection of all consumable, tools, installation aids required for the execution of the Diving scope of work.
  • Participate and coordinate SIT, specific trials and offshore/onshore operations, as required
  • Supervise the implementation, revision, follow up of the overall equipment mobilisation lists.
  • Responsible for the Technical interface:
    • With the Client and Third-parties. This includes clear definition of responsibilities when activities are planned on-board third parties vessel or platforms. This includes the identification and reporting to Project Management of any gaps that may impact the correct execution of the scope of work.
    • With Other disciplines, operation department. This includes the identification and reporting to Project Management of any gaps that may impact the correct execution of the scope of work.
    • With PMA Aberdeen for diving spread requirement and preparation. This includes Tooling databook, tooling upgrade, mobilisation, demobilisation, repair follow-up.
    • Deliver Interface and responsibility matrix.
  • Assist for the preparation and follow-up project changes and variation orders
  • Prepare feedback summary, reports on project
  • Attend to project and discipline meeting
  • Responsible for the issuance of the operation reports and associated lesson learns.

 

Resources Management:

 

  • Assist Principal engineer or package engineer for the preparation of the onshore and offshore resource plan. (onshore / supplier inspection / onshore / offshore)

 

Engineering expertise:

 

Within the scope he/she is allocated to:

  • Be the project focal point for all Diving activities with others disciplines and department
  • Be responsible for transfer of knowledge from past to future projects (within the discipline)
  • Assist to proper review of project engineering deliverables
  • Co-ordinate all assigned assistance to project(s) and tendering activities
  • Assist to development and maintenance of standard work procedures and design guidelines
  • Assist Diving Operation Manager for Diving spread audit and/or Diving spread mobilization if needed

 

Engineering Quality:

 

Within the scope he/she is allocated to:

  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with the latest HSEQ and engineering Group procedures
  • Ensure of the quality of the Diving Subcontractor’s engineering is in line with Subsea 7 requirements.
  • Contribute to Project Engineering review
  • Attend project audits related to Engineering Activities
  • Ensure that technical documents are properly reviewed, checked according to the project quality control plan

 

3. AUTHORITY/DIMENSIONS

 

Functional: Within the scope he/she is allocated to:

 

  • Validate documents produced under his / her responsibility
  • Act as a mentor for a Junior or project Engineer as requested

 

Commercial / Contractual:

 

  • Assist Principal engineer, package and supply chain for the evaluation of Diving subcontractor (3rd party Diving), Diving tooling subcontractor and preparation of the Subcontract.
  • Assist supply chain for the evaluation of all installation aids, temporary equipment.
  • Assist supply management for all items relevant to the subcontract follow up.
  • Highlight changes and potential variation order to project management. Assist project management for the preparation and follow up of changes and variation order.

5. CAPABILITY PROFILE - KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND BEHAVIOURS

 

Knowledge and skills

 

  • Technical skill in most of the below:
    • Diving Operation including Diving limitation.
    • Diving IMCA regulation.
    • Knowledge on both Air and saturation Diving.
    • Diving Tooling.
    • Knowledge in pre-commissioning.
  • Large managerial experience in above scope.
  • Large experience in interface management and process.
  • Personnel Management
  • Site / offshore scope management

 

 

Behaviour:

 

  • Team player.
  • Hands on
  • Active and responsive but remaining rigorous.
  • Willing for extended offshore mission.

6. WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical environment:

 

  • Majority of the work is carried out in the regional main office site in Suresnes or Sutton
  • Offshore / Off-site location during project Execution phase as required
  • Working hours according to local regulation and Company's policy
