Package Manager

Location: Sharjah- UAE

We provide project management, engineering and construction expertise across the full field lifecycle. These services are delivered within three operational business units: Subsea and Conventional, Life of Field, and Renewables and Heavy Lifting.

Within Africa, Middle East & Caspian region (AMEC), we safely execute Subsea and Conventional projects which connect seabed wellhead infrastructures to surface facilities such as platforms and floating production systems. We are actively present in a significant number of countries in Africa, Europe, Caspian Sea, Middle East and Asia.

 

OVERVIEW OF ROLE

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.

All personnel are also expected to contribute to creating a culture of ethics and integrity within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to our Code of Conduct.

The Package Manager is part of the management team.

The Package Manager is responsible for the completion of the work related to its scope within the targets of safety, production, manhours, schedule and cost.

The Package Manager works with tender teams to identify and quantify risks at the bidding stage then manages performance and risk throughout the project life cycle.

 

Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities

When assigned to a tender:

  • Agree the battery limits of its scope relative to other packages.
  • Coordinate the activities of the various disciplines involved on the project in accordance with the internal process map.
  • Ensure all deliverables are issued to the relevant management/functions for review and then to the Client in line with the scope assigned and as per schedule.
  • Facilitate the scope review cycle (kick off meeting, strategy review and management review).
  • Ensure that the overall scope is well presented and clearly understood by the rest of the team and supporting the clarification process with the client as required.
  • Organize the start-up activities on the project: clarify and confirm the battery limits of the scope and split of responsibilities between functions and the rest of the project team through RACI matrix, develop anticipated schedule of all activities, develop and agree with project team deliverables and key dates for all main activities, re-confirm cost budget for its own scope. Identify any changes up or down from as-sold position.
  • Coordinate the activities of the various disciplines involved on the project in accordance with the PM7.
  • Ensure all activities progress safely with the appropriate level of quality and as per schedule.
  • Control and report progress of activities against the agreed budget and schedule. Prepare and organise Project Monthly Status Report for review by Project Management and Project team.
  • Check that the allocated resources are adequate to carry out the work and meet the target is adequate.
  • Identify changes, risks and opportunities and ensure proper management of the same in conjunction with the project team.
  • Highlight any areas of concern and seek support in case of conflicts related to internal interfaces.
  • Assist the Project Manager during meetings with COMPANY as required.
  • Plan and deliver the site and/or vessel mobilisation[s] and support the readiness reviews in due time prior to start-up of operations.
  • Follow up & analyse the progress of the sites and or vessel and lead the trouble shooting of any safety, quality or technical issue on site.
  • Issue lesson learned and COL (Cost Of Loss) as required for continuous improvement
  • Ensure appropriate scope closeout.

 

AUTHORITY/DIMENSIONS

  • Operate within the Code of Conduct.
  • Operate according to Subsea 7’s Management Principles.
  • Standards and procedures for the projects function.
  • Refer to the Authority Limit Matrix for the level of authority.
  • The Package Lead/Manager reports to the Project Manager (line) and to the P&O Director (functional).

  • COMPANY Representative for the package when required by the project.
