Project Control Manager

Location:  Sharjah- UAE

We provide project management, engineering and construction expertise across the full field lifecycle. These services are delivered within three operational business units: Subsea and Conventional, Life of Field, and Renewables and Heavy Lifting.

Within Africa, Middle East & Caspian region (AMEC), we safely execute Subsea and Conventional projects which connect seabed wellhead infrastructures to surface facilities such as platforms and floating production systems. We are actively present in a significant number of countries in Africa, Europe, Caspian Sea, Middle East and Asia.

                                    

OVERVIEW OF ROLE

Responsible for full project controls aspects (Risk, Planning and Cost control) and the associated reporting during all phases of the project contract activities in compliance with company & client requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversees all aspects of the day to day management of the project control team and co-ordinates the work performed by Planning, Cost Control and Finance liaising with other relevant dept. such as Engineering, Contracts, HSEQ, Operations and SCM.

 

The employee’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Coordinate and act as the primary interface with the Project Services department.
  • Manage and be accountable for the planning, risk and cost management and complies with the requirements of the main contract, but also with internal procedures and policies.
  • Develop and be responsible work processes, reports and procedures for cost control, planning and risk at project level.
  • Responsible to oversee the identification of variances from the original scope of work in coordination with Contract dept.
  • Ensure that the project revenue and profit are optimized at project level in liaison with the Project Manager.
  • Monitor and facilitate the risk management process, participate in the elaboration of risk mitigation measures & seek opportunities (e.g. additional work) to maximize margin and turnover.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the cost control is appropriately involved in the approval of all cost commitments for all Supply Chain Management tasks and all Project financial approvals.
  • Ensure that the Project Manager is provided with support and advice on all aspects of Project Services.
  • Responsible for generating timely the Project Monthly Status Report (PMSR) with input from other functions (Project Management, HSEQ, Engineering, SCM, Logistic, Operations, etc.).
  • Responsible for timely informing the management with accurate data on all the aspect of the Project Services.
  • Responsible for monitoring and supporting the contracts representative in the handling of changes to the contract (variations, amendments).
  • Responsible to ensure that all reports to the Client are provided in a timely and compliant manner.
  • As a leader of Project Services, build a harmonious team with cross cultural management environment and lead to achieve the project KPI.
  • Business traveling to sites, Client’s office, Consortium’s office is daily activities

 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Project Services or served in a multitude of roles managed by the Project Services group, like planning/scheduling and cost engineering experience in an engineering and construction environment.
  • Experience as Project Controls Manager on EPCI project with value of about U$50M and above.
  • Must be fluent in the English language and be an effective communicator.
  • Must have extremely articulate writing skills
  • High level of Competency in the use of MS Excel, Power Point and Word.
  • Experience in MS Project or Primavera

  • Support standards and procedures for the relevant Function
